Wikimedia_Diversity_Conference_2017: Example of a simple check of gender gap/diversity of External identifiers added to Wikidata
[edit]See my blog my thought is that Wikidata could feed a gender/diversity dashboard were you can compare external identifiers of the same typ...... Example the Swedish P3217 is the Swedish National Archives that just are documenting 6% women - see blog - Salgo60 (talk) 10:51, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Devanagari Digits
[edit]Hi, I have seen you are in technical wish team. Sanskrit Wikipedia has only one technical wish, but since long time we can't get any improvement. I know we have small community, but digit in Arbic is one of the reasons, who stopped our growth. All new comers are not familiar with these digits and they leave sa.wiki after some time. Please do something for us. I hope you and your team can help our small community. Thanks. (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T155888) NehalDaveND (talk) 05:36, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi NehalDaveND, I looked into the ticket, and I chatted with Ladsgroup who has commented in the ticket: He is active on Persian Wikipedia, where they built a template to change digit to local language. He said he could have a look and try to rebuilt the Persian Wp solution for your wiki somewhen in the next week(s) (as far as he can get). Hope that helps! (P.S. our team is only working on an already prioritised list as an outcome of a survey, and we wouldn't be able to take in additional and non_prioritised requests in between.) - Best --Birgit Müller (WMDE) (talk) 10:42, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help. I hope he will try to build net week. But if I want to put this problem in you prioritized list next year, what should I do? NehalDaveND (talk) 11:31, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi NehalDaveND, the right place for that would be the international community wishlist, as our project is an initiative from Wikimedia Germany, and the surveys to gather and prioritize user problems were only conducted on German Wikipedia. But I think Ladsgroup's offer it quite cool, and if he can fix that, you might not even need to submit a proposal for the next wishlist round. Best, --Birgit Müller (WMDE) (talk) 13:25, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
