Creation with translate tags

[edit]

Hello DSaroyan,

Here and on some other pages, the bot has created some text containing translate tags. Are these page really expected to be translated or this is only a copy issue? In last case, from where comes the copied wikitext?

The bot is quickly increasing the translation admin backlog, we should stop this behavior. Regards, -- Pols12 (talk) 23:35, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, if the page is marked for translation (as happened with Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/WIKI KOUMAN TCHAD), then CR-FluxxBot will remove the translation unit comments, which is clearly undesirable * Pppery * it has begun 00:57, 31 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Pols12 and Pppery, thanks for bringing this to my attention. This is not a copy issue, the bot puts these tags to all applications because some pages might get translated. But I realize the issues it causes on your end, as well as the removal of translation marks after the bot updates these translated pages. Since a few pages have already been translated, I kindly ask you to offer me a few weeks to work on this and I'll remove all translation tags from all applications. Here are the templates that the bot uses. I'll just remove the translation tags from the templates and the applications will get slowly updated. Does this sound good to you? Sorry for all trouble caused! --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 05:46, 31 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your quick answer! 🙂 We’re open to help with translation, we just want to ensure we and translators don’t work vainly. There is no urgent need to fix concerned pages. -- Pols12 (talk) 19:16, 31 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Dear Pols12 and Pppery, thanks again for your patience. I can confirm that the translation tags will slowly disappear from all applications. Let me know if you notice any other issues. Best, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:29, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

No edit summary

[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if we can have edit summary for edits eg. (Updating). Thank you. 511KeV (talk) 15:57, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello 511KeV, thanks for reaching out to me. Your comment wasn't clear to me. Could you please specify where do you want to have edit summaries for edits? Thanks, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:15, 28 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @DSaroyan (WMF). Well, I was just checking the edits made by this bot eg Here I was wondering if they can have a common edit summary something like Updating rather than no edit summary. Just a suggestion as I don't like to see this no edit summary. Thankyou. 511KeV (talk) 09:04, 28 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi 511KeV, thanks for the suggestion! It's a helpful recommendation and I see why you would like to see edit summaries. Unfortunately, it's not implemented now, but we will add this feature into our wishlist to deploy when we make new changes to the tool. Thanks again and have a great day! --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:59, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
[edit]

Please see this change where User:CR-FluxxBot changed a working interwiki link en:WP:UV ([[en:WP:UV]])[note 1] to a non-working link WP:UV.

  1. ↑ Adding <code> & <nowiki> tags here in case User:CR-FluxxBot tries its thing here!

Undefined ref

[edit]

CR-FluxxBot is adding a <ref name="fixedrate" group="note" /> without a definition for the reference or a reflist to put it in. See for example https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Alliances_Fund/Empowering_OER_Stakeholders_and_Educators_in_Indonesia&diff=prev&oldid=27096230

Could it please be told to not do that? * Pppery * it has begun 23:56, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Pppery, thanks! I fixed it, the bot will update the broken references at UTC+00:00. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 06:42, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Universal Code of Conduct

[edit]

Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Conference Fund/WikiConference India 2025 - This is a sample page. Seems like for question 30, the url of Universal Code of Conduct appears to be broken. Kindly ignore if it is an expected one. Adithyak1997 (talk) 14:55, 12 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Adithyak1997, thanks for the note. I just updated the link on your original application. This change will be published to Meta tomorrow. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:21, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Category:Rapid Fund proposals in FY 2024-25 ()

[edit]

There are currently 360 pages in this category. Why the ()? Was it meant to be Category:Rapid Fund proposals in FY 2024-25 or a round n subcategory thereof? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 19:41, 28 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh, thanks for reporting it. These are all applications where the review round hasn't been defined, mostly because the requests are drafts or new submissions. I just slightly edited the automatic category name to Category:Rapid Fund proposals in FY 2024-25 (unknown round). And will clean out Category:Rapid Fund proposals in FY 2024-25 () soon. Duplicate final reports

[edit]

The bot recently created several duplicate final report pages:

NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 20:28, 28 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh, these pages have been created in July 2025. The issue causing it has been fixed. Thanks for noticing and marking the pages for deletion. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:46, 29 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Rapid Fund pages with empty titles

[edit]

Some that I found (a few more above):

Extended content

Either the requestor forgot to set a title, or that the page is a test. Publishing such pages should be disallowed. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 02:56, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh. It was a tool error that created these pages. The error has been fixed since and this type of pages with broken titles happen really rare now. I deleted the other 2 pages where you put redirects. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:39, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Rapid Fund pages with the same title but different IDs

[edit]
Extended content

The bot should avoid creating duplicated pages. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 03:00, 3 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

It's not the bot creating duplicate pages in the first place. It is grantees creating duplicate drafts/applications in the system. You can see that all pages have different IDs, meaning they are all considered as unique applications. I agree that it would make more sense to clean the matching drafts. I don't promise to do it immediately, but I'll try to dedicate some time to clean this out in the future. Simply deleting the pages from Meta will not help because they also need to be deleted from Fluxx. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:46, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DSaroyan (WMF): Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say is that the system should instead point the user to previous drafts/applications of theirs when they attempt to create a new one with a title they have used before. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 07:53, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh, I see. I'm sorry but it is currently technically not possible. But we also have the opposite case: some applicants creating applications with similar/matching names but they are indeed different applications (re-submissions, follow-up projects, etc). So, the best option would be to clean out the list once in a while which I'll try to do. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:26, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Can I ask for an update ?

[edit]

To the Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/SMALL GLAM SLAM Pilot 1 (ID: 22444585)/Final Report page. —Ismael Olea (talk) 09:12, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Olea, done! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 07:54, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

South Kazakhstan Youth Wikipedia Program

[edit]

Hi https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/Rapid_Fund/South_Kazakhstan_Youth_Wikipedia_Program_(ID:_23677275) How can we change the status? TheNomadEditor (talk) 15:10, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @TheNomadEditor, you need to submit the application on Fluxx. Log in to Fluxx, open the application and there is a "Submit application" button on the bottom right corner. You need to click the button to formally submit it. After submission, the status will change on Meta page within a day. Here's a tutorial video to help you. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:23, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry. I filled out the eleventh section on the Meta-Wiki page, but I accidentally clicked the submit button on the Flux site without writing anything. TheNomadEditor (talk) 12:00, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
You should not update the application on Meta because all changes will be removed. Please move any edits to your Fluxx application. I just sent the application back to you on Fluxx. Add any new information and re-submit. Any information added to Meta page will not be considered and will be removed. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:24, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
