So I'm also boldly running for Patrolman permission to patrol new pages, edit recent changes, and quickly revert malicious changes with rollback. I don't promise anything. Nonsense translations

Hi MTRIProd, when you discover nonsense translation edits, please just revert them (if there is a previous correctly translated version) or tag the newly created translation pages for speedy deletion. Manually inserting the untranslated English text [1] is not useful as the software doesn't realize that it is not translated yet -> [2]. It's not useful as well to try to manually undo the nonsense translation [3], just tag nonsense translation pages for speedy deletion and wait for an admin to act.

By the way: Where did you see crosswiki abuse with Special:Contributions/2409:4070:231B:5907:0:0:1F09:68B1 [4]? If it's just local abuse (which seems to be the case, if I'm not missing something), there is no need to file a report – the admin doing the speedy deletion will usually consider blocking the IP anyway. To be honest, I'm not fully convinced now, as autopatrolled is granted to experienced users who have demonstrated an understanding of Meta policies and guidelines and we are just discussing an issue where you are still learning about our guidelines. Helping others

Hi MTRIProd, it's nice that you're trying to help others, but perhaps it's best to leave this to other users until you've gained more experience.

This [7] was not particularly helpful, because you could have easily seen (by looking at CentralAuth [8]) that the account is not blocked anywhere – and suggesting to ask for unlock makes even less sense, since the account is clearly not locked, see Global locks. Users complaining about being blocked while not actually being blocked is usually a sign, that they are affected by an IP block -> [9].

Now you tried to help another user by copying my answer [10], even though a quick look at CentralAuth again [11] would have shown you, that this user is blocked for sockpuppet abuse. It's very likely, that the enwiki IP block which prevents them from local account creation is intended [12] – and there are no circumstances in which a user who is blocked for sockpuppet abuse will get IP block exempt to escape an IP block.

Also attention to detail matters: I linked bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:আইপি বাধামুক্ত here [13] because it's the users home wiki [14], similar I linked c:Commons:IP block exemption here [15] because its the other users home wiki [16]. As the third user was asking about enwiki [17], linking en:Wikipedia:IP block exemption would have been correct (if this user wasn't a sockpuppet), as local exempts can only override local blocks and the global exemption can only help with global blocks. I see that another really experienced user has also exposed their point of view. Please, just assume that meta.wiki is meant as a coordination wiki and thus it is quite reasonable for people to explain in some way their own interests and show their activities. Assume good faith

With user pages. I think that you need a softer view. If it is clear spam, then nominate it for deletion. If we look to assume good faith, and we are uncertain about a user's page and you think that it has some problems, then please enter into a discussion on their talk page. If you don't feel comfortable having that conversation, then AGF and move on. The use of the sledgehammer of deletion should only be for the clearest violation of our policies.
