Hello Mhaitham.shammaa, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Meta:Metapub (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Thanks for experimenting with the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki. Your test worked, and has now been reverted or removed. Please use Meta:Sandbox for any other tests you want to do, since testing in articles will be reverted quickly. Please see the introduction page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our project and also read about Meta's Inclusion policy on what is and isn't allowed on Meta-Wiki. Thanks. --Herby talk thyme 15:38, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Your edits to List of Wikipedias/Table[edit]
While I see you make productive edits elsewhere, your edits to the List of Wikipedias table continue to damage it, either by removing a number of wikis or duplicating large portions of the table entirely. Perhaps it would be better to simply not attempt to edit the page at all.
While we appreciate help from well-respected users, if the problem continues, we'll have no choice but to prevent you from editing the table in the future. Please check your browser for incompatibilities (early versions of Firefox had issues saving large buffers) first, as it may be a simple problem to fix. Thank you. Kylu 02:52, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- (your reply on my talkpage)
- Actually, manual updating isn't really necessary: Mxn does frequent updating using a script. I'd really rather prefer to see a bot go through once a day and do the update, but I'm curious how likely that is. I think two potential problems to manual updating are that either 1) you pull the wiki statistics while they're still being written to the file, causing parts of the statistics page to be missing, or 2) you accidentally double-paste sections. It's rather easy to watch the changes in RC, as the page size shoots from around 130kb to 200kb or more in one edit, or suddenly loses 20kb worth of data in an edit (history link).
- I'd suggest using preview and compare it to the last revision, and if anything other than the numbers change, don't save. Thanks for your help! Kylu 01:47, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
