Hello, The sixth workshop on the topic of "How to maintain bots" is coming up - it will take place on Friday, July 29th at 16:00 UTC. This session will focus on best practices for maintaining bots and tools in the Wikimedia ecosystem. It will cover a few practices that can help developers run a bot or a tool with help from others, such as picking a license, adding co-maintainers to the project, publishing source code, writing docs, and much more. To participate in this workshop, you would need basic familiarity with bots or tools development. You can add your discussion ideas in the etherpad doc linked from the workshops page. The Léopoldville riots were an outbreak of civil disorder in Léopoldville (modern-day Kinshasa) in the Belgian Congo which took place in January 1959 and which were an important moment for the Congolese independence movement. The rioting occurred when members of the Alliance des Bakongo (ABAKO) political party were not allowed to assemble for a protest and colonial authorities reacted harshly. The exact death toll is not known, but at least 49 people were killed and total casualties may have been as high as 500. Following these riots, a round table conference was organized in Brussels to negotiate the terms of Congo's independence, The Congo received its independence on 30 June 1960, becoming the Republic of the Congo. Closure of Akan Wikipedia
Hello! In the preparation for the (very likely to be approved) closure of Akan Wikipedia, I had a look at the wiki and found quite a lot of spam pages I deleted. I also noticed that you have already imported pages from there to the Twi Wikipedia, and have deleted two or three such articles from Akan Wikipedia already, as they are now on the Twi wiki. I was wondering how to best prepare for the closure. Do you have a list of articles that have already been transferred and can be deleted from Akan? I could then delete these pages when the closure is approved, and we can see what pages remain, and whether they need to be transferred as well. --MF-W 18:37, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hello -MF-W. Thank you for your assistance. I have already transferred most, if not all, of the pertinent articles from the Akan Wikipedia to the Twi Wikipedia, and I have been encouraging local editors to contribute to and create articles for the Twi Wikipedia. - I have listed all current mainspace pages from akwiki here: tw:User:MF-Warburg, so we can easily see which ones exist on twwiki and which ones don't. Now we have e.g. [1], which you imported to [2]. There have been some template changes afterwards on akwiki, but nothing in the content. Would it be correct to assume that such pages can be deleted on akwiki without problem? --MF-W 13:20, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

- Hello again. I am still busy with deleting duplicates. However, here is now a list of akwiki pages that don't exist on twwiki. Would you be willing to review the list and import those pages that can be "used" into twwiki yourself? When you are finished, I would then delete all those pages on akwiki, including ones you maybe didn't import because they were of low quality. Alternatively, I can also import all of those 194 pages into twwiki, and you (or other community members) could take it from there. --MF-W 21:36, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

Please be bold and help translate this article! Sonia Shainwald Orbuch (born Sarah Shainwald, May 24, 1925 – September 30, 2018) was an American Holocaust educator. During the Second World War she was a Jewish resistance fighter in eastern Poland. Orbuch hid in the forests of Poland with her family during the Second World War. She joined a group of Soviet partisans, being renamed Sonia in case she was captured, and helped fight against the Germans. After the war, she returned home, where she met her future husband. After having a daughter in a refugee camp in Germany, the family eventually emigrated to the United States. She spent the rest of life in public engagement, speaking about her experiences and in 2009, published her autobiography, Here, There Are No Sarahs: A Woman's Courageous Fight Against the Nazis and Her Bittersweet Fulfillment of the American Dream.
