Really old participant list[edit]

  1. Jimbo Wales I think Europe is the only place that makes any sense, but I will go anywhere in the world. Wouldn't miss it for anything.
  2. +sj+
  3. Angela
  4. Ropers 20:10, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC) — Preferred locations, in order: Dublin, Birmingham, other European locations (in the wider sense). If I can at all arrange it, I'll definitely come.
  5. James F. (talk)
  6. Imran - almost certainly if in London, probably if nearby (Birm/Dublin/Paris).
  7. If in the States an announced far enough in advance to find cheap tickets, I hope so. I'd love to travel to Europe, but a teacher's budget won't bear it, I think. Jwrosenzweig 22:45, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  8. If in North America, or somewhere interesting like Ljubljana and my budget permits. --Delirium 23:04, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  9. I would prefer if it were in Europe, because then I'd have an excuse to go to Europe! -- TimShell 00:48, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  10. Emu, if in AT, DE, CZ, IT, HU or reachable with Low-Cost-Flights (i.e. London)
  11. Anthere (will depend on school starting. Long notice for far away meeting)
  12. Raul654 - but I'm a poor graduate student, so travel will stretch my budget.
  13. bdesham - depending on time, and probably only if it's on the US East Coast—i.e. cheap :-)
  14. Tomcat - Time should be okay, possible place for me is only cheap locations in the EU.
  15. sannse - Will depend on location (England or other European venue would be best for me, costwise) and also on my situation at the time (unpredictable) but I certainly would like to be there
  16. Chmod007 if in Europe (preferably low-cost flights from Sweden; Birmingham, London, Paris). Certainly wouldn't mind Poland either.
  17. Arne (akl) might depend on location (Europe preferred)
  18. Erik Zachte 12:05, Sep 11, 2004 (UTC)
  19. Zocky: as long as it's in Europe or possibly NY and I get a cheap flight.
  20. Austin Hair (A meetup in the U.S. would be most convenient, but I'll go anywhere.)
  21. Mathias Schindler 20:53, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC) (Europe including Israel would be fine).
  22. User:Kaet Potentially anywhere, though I'd prefer Europe, but that's just be being lazy. I'd be most concerned with visiting the US, Egypt or China as I'd be concerned about government detention and stuff (I don't wanna go on a holiday and end up in prison!).
Discussion moved to en:User:Kaet/VisitingUS do avoid blocking up this list. Feel free to discuss there, I'm not trying to block debate, or to get into some geopolitics rant, just stating preferences!
  23. Miami, Atlanta. Neutrality 00:57, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  24. Danny 05:46, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  25. DerTeufel - Europe (especially Vienna :) ) would be good, everywhere else it depends on my financial status :)
  26. GerardM Europe is easiest.
  27. Hashar Restricted to Europe by railway or short flights unless I take a boat :o)
  28. Kurt Jansson, Europe preferred
  29. Michael Snow I prefer North America for cost and convenience; I would try to make Europe if that ends up being chosen, but won't commit to it now, though I certainly would love to travel there again
  30. Maha Europe preferred
  31. Grunt Whether or not I could make it at all would depend on when in the summer this will take place. Time-wise, the end of August or within the first few days of September would be preferred, though any other time after the end of June would also work.. Location-wise, eastern North America or western-central Europe (although Europe may be out of my financial range at that time) would probably be preferential. UPDATE: flights to Europe are much, much less expensive than I expected.
  32. Roozbeh if somewhere in Europe, Asia, or Africa. US, Israel, and Egypt are almost impossible for me because of difficulties in getting visas. Also, the cheaper the better, so East Europe, North Africa, and Middle East are better than other places.
  33. David Shay 11:46, 16 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe preferred
  34. Polyglot 14:18, 16 Sep 2004 (UTC) I can only make it if it is in Europe. Amsterdam preferred, Vienna, Frankfurt and Ljubljana would probably also be feasible.
  35. Isam 18:01, 16 Sep 2004 (UTC) I hope it will be in Europe. Won't be able to attend if in Israel or USA or Far East.
  36. oscar 13:31, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe preferred
  37. Alfio Europe preferred, ironically my schedule will take me in Arizona for a few months during 2005 (don't know the exact dates yet).
  38. Tipiac If in Europe I'll try to attend (if not too expensive to go for a poor student ;)) Tipiac 23:08, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  39. Fuzheado - hold outside of US, don't want all wikipedians fingerprinted by the government :)
  40. EricPoehlsen 11:57, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC) - if in Europe (soory but intercontinental flights are not in my budget)
  41. Kaihsu 21:58, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC): if in Britain or Ireland or Ljubljana.
  42. Ausir 17:55, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe (Poland or other Central European location preferred)
  43. Adziura 18:50, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe (Poland)
  44. TOR 01:07, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe (preferably Poland but I'll also consider coming to other nearby locations)
  45. Nadavspi 23:22, 26 Sep 2004 (UTC) Would definitely attend in Atlanta, possibly other USA places or Israel.
  46. Wellparp 11:41, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe
  47. ✏ Sverdrup I confess, I WANT to go.
  48. Kpjas 22:06, 27 Sep 2004 (UTC) if in Europe
  49. Fantasy in Europe :-)
  50. Fire 15:11, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  51. IMSoP: Possibly, if it's located in: London, Amsterdam, Paris, or somewhere else in the UK (yes, in that order: I have relatives in convenient locations...)
  52. Philipendula 16:20, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC) Europe
  53. Brion VIBBER North America is more convenient for me, but I'll try to attend if in Europe.
  54. Francs2000 Europe is preferred, can make the United States at a stretch.
  55. BCorr Eastern North America makes it much more likely for me, (but London or Paris would be a lot more fun!)
  56. Snowdog pretty sure if in Europe, unlikely if in other continents. (preference goes to Ljulbjana, then Berlin)
  57. zoney talk If in Dublin, then certainly. Probably if elsewhere in Europe also!
  58. Yann Preference for Europe.
  59. AxelK Europe is preferred
  60. Ludraman If in Ireland - Definitely! If in western Europe - possibly.
  61. Freso If in Denmark (which hasn't been mentioned at all above :(), I'd pretty surely go, even if I'm not the most active. I might go to Ireland, Germany, or somewhere else in Western Europe. I wouldn't cross the Atlantic though, nor travel to the Mid-to-Far East.
  62. Ronline If in Cluj-Napoca, definitely. If in Central, Eastern or Northern Europe, probably. If in other parts of Europe, possibly.
  63. Rabauz Europe is preferred
  64. Gorak Europe rules!
  65. Dittaeva: Everywhere but US and Australia (budget concerns, mostly], really, preferrably somewhere interesting like Romania or Slovakia.
  66. Arno Lagrange  OK for any place in Europe, but we must seriously discuss if for "practical reasons" all the stuff must be in english. I feal these arguments a bit stupid : most people cannot express themself easyly in english. We need other ways to communicate internationallly.
  67. # The_bellman - Well im already planning a trip to europe in the (southern hemisphere) winter, so if it was there id try and come.
  68. Frieda Europe ;-)
  69. IulianU in Europe
  70. FrankBusch in Europe
  71. Bdk in Europe: preferred locations, in order: Germany (Ffm or Berlin), Cluj-Napoca, Dublin.
  72. Mazbln preferred location: Berlin, but Amsterdam, Dublin or Ljubljana is also possible
  73. Joseaperez in Europe.

  1. Best time for me. Late May would be even better. --Delirium 08:19, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  1. Late July/early August probably preferred. Ropers 01:00, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  2. July would be good. --Kwekubo
  3. June better for me, but July acceptable. --Delirium 08:19, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  4. July/August/September fine for me, June not possible Kiand 17:23, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  5. July would be nice. --Philipendula 23:06, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  7. Ilja: everywhere & everytime!

Comments[edit]

I would prefer a location where it is not so hot that you really do not want to do anything anymore. From that perspective, I like it more North and I would prefer June/July over August. I also think that the location should be somewhat touristy as well; for many people it will be their holiday.. 21:08, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Please fix the date as early as possible, because my life for next year is getting booked fast (same for some other people I'd think) FrankBusch 00:36, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
