General information[edit]

The Wikimedia Conference (WMCON) is the annual meeting of all Wikimedia organizations (Wikimedia chapters, thematic organization, user groups, and the Wikimedia Foundation), as well as the WMF Board, AffCom and FDC to discuss the future of the Wikimedia movement in terms of collaboration, structures and organizational development.

The WMCON17 is organized and hosted by Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE) in close collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF).

In addition to the core-conference, the Wikimedia Foundation organizes pre-conference Learning Days on Wednesday and Thursday, March 29-30. There will be two different tracks:

  • ‘Traditional Learning Days’ on program design and community engagement
  • ‘Leadership Development’ for programs and community building

As only a limited number of slots are available and it will not be possible for all interested participants to attend Learning Days, we kindly ask you to register by December 1st in order to have the best chance for selection.
