Wikipedia & Education User Group/Working Groups
<Wikipedia & Education User Group/EduWiki Hub
The EduWiki Hub (Wikipedia & Education User Group’s global initiative) has established four Working Groups to decentralize leadership and bolster the education movement worldwide. Each group focuses on a core service area aligned with the UG’s initial governance structure, the global needs, the EduWiki Theory of Change, and Hub’s mission: expanding outreach, curating open educational resources, enhancing technical infrastructure, and building volunteer capacity. These groups, which are representatives of different regions within the wikimedia movements, advise on strategy and coordinate activities in partnership with the UG Board and EduWiki Hub staff to provide services to the global EduWiki movement
Working Groups
[edit]The four (4) initial working groups that have been established to deliver core services to the community includes;
Outreach and Engagement Working Group: Responsible for expanding visibility and impact by building partnerships, strengthening communication, and planning, organizing, and promoting Wikimedia education programs such as the EduWiki Workshop and Knowledge Showcase.
Resource Curation and Development Working Group: Responsible for curating, organizing, and localizing high-quality Wikimedia Open Educational Resources (OERs).
Technical Infrastructure Working Group: Responsible for addressing the technical needs of the community, including the development, maintenance, and integration of the Events and Programs Dashboard for Wikimedia education programs.
Capacity Building and Volunteer Support Working Group: Responsible for designing and implementing mentorship and training opportunities, and supporting the growth and well-being of volunteers and education leaders.
