Community Feedback[edit]

Central Notice Admin comments[edit]

Hi, Lahariyaniyathi.

Are the communities notified about the approaching campaign? I would appreciate you dropping a line or two on respective Village Pumps.
I see that the landing page is not yet ready, or rather it shows different dates than what is requested for the campaign — do not forget to update it, please :)
Also, when it is ready it would be nice to have it translatable and translated into the participating languages. I can help you with that, or if I am not around you may ask Kaganer or any other active translate admin.
Seeing the list of the articles you have I recommend you to create a module similar to what was used during CEE Spring article contest (the module itself) — it automatically shows if the article exists in all participating wikis basing on the Wikidata identifier. I think for example Jura1 or Voll the authors of the module could help you adapting it.

We have sent notifications to more than 18 mailing lists (primarily Indian Language) and notified on the respective Village Pumps as well.
It is a conscious decision to request the central notice a little while after the edit-a-thon has formally started. We wanted to assess the effectiveness of our internal communication channels and corresponding impact.
Thanks for the support, will definitely request for your help. Our community advocates and ambassadors for the event are working on translation as well.
This module looks great. We will try and incorporate the structure for this event.
Thanks and regards, Lahariyaniyathi (talk) 14:45, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Lahariyaniyathi, thanks for the notifications! Is this look of the banner OK with you? Please translate the banner text to as many target languages as you can here (select language in top right corner). --Base (talk) 03:11, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We have initiated the process of translation. Will update in most of the languages that have ambassadors for our event. The look of the banner is fine. Thanks :) — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lahariyaniyathi (talk) 03:52, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, could you please clarify what time zone to use for the campaign UTC or some other? I would also appreciate you listing the campaign on CentralNotice/Calendar page. Thanks again :) --Base (talk) 03:20, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We would request you to kindly use IST (INDIAN STANDARD TIME) as the time zone. I have added the campaign on the CentralNotice/Calendar page. Thanks for the support:) — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lahariyaniyathi (talk) 03:52, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, enabled. Also thankfully Ijon has helped to post some notifications to get some translations, so it is not just kn and hi now, but unfortunately still not all the languages the banner is targeted to. Please try harder on the translation part next time, it is very important to serve people information in their native languages even though I realise that most should understand hi and en very well. Impression diet set is 50% of the traffic, 5 impressions per 24 hours. Thanks for the /Calendar entry and timezone information. --Base (talk) 18:44, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
