GLAM School

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

This is the home of the GLAM School project. The page is in progress, and will continue to evolve over 2022.

GLAM School is a project by AvoinGLAM to chart out, uncover, and support practices that help GLAM professionals, GLAM-Wiki volunteers, Open GLAM advocates and others to be more empowered to contribute to Wikimedia and other open projects.

In 2022 we are conducting surveys, chats, and interviews across organizations and networks involved in providing Open Access to cultural heritage. Based on the responses, we try to bring ideas into action while we go.

Discussion summaries[edit]

The interview and the survey will focus on a selection of topics. Each topic will be summarized on their individual page. All of the topics can additionally be commented on their respective discussion pages.

Interviews / chats[edit]

We will conduct at least 15 interviews with different organizations and individuals working with GLAM. It is important that the selection represents a wide geographic, linguistic, and thematic diversity.

Book an interview[edit]

If you wish to book an interview, you can fill in your contact information in the survey and we can get started!

If you wish to take your time responding to the questions, take the survey. You only need to answer the questions you find important, and you can work on your answers until the end of the year 2022.

Read and translate the survey questions[edit]

The survey questions are listed on this page. You can translate the questions to your local language and help to spread the survey in your local context that way.

Take the survey[edit]

Option 1[edit]

Take the survey in Google Forms (English only) →

Option 2[edit]

You can alternatively respond to the survey here on-wiki. Type your username in the box and hit the button. A new page is created for your answers with the translated questions. This works well for languages other than English that have already a lot of the questions translated.

The terms used in the survey are added to this translatable page.

At the end of 2022, the survey will be frozen, and the results will be aggregated into key recommendations for actions that need broader consensus or better resources.
