6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

We have just completed our most recent project, "Ibibio Language on Translatewiki.net 2.0," in which we successfully translated the remaining 253 of the most important messages of the MediaWiki software on the translatewiki.net platform.

We, the non-recognized Ibibio Group (in the process of applying for official status), still do not have enough articles on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator and will use this project to increase the number of articles in order to boost our chances of obtaining our own domain, as we are getting closer than ever.

Through this project, "Operation Increase Ibibio Articles," we hope to reach more Ibibio language native speakers who will contribute to the growth of our community and, in turn, become active contributors and volunteers on Wikimedia projects.

We hope to have a total of 15 old and new editors participating in this edit-a-thon.

During this project, as usual, we will conduct a refresher course for our old editors, while new participants will be introduced to Wikimedia projects, particularly the Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator, which is the focus of this project.

On the day of the edit-a-thon, we will assign articles to each participant and track their contributions using the outreach dashboard.

At the end of the project, we will award prizes as a form of motivation to the top five editors.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

This project will be a 2-day in-person edit-a-thon where both old and new Ibibio language native speakers will be recruited.

In the course of the project, 70 articles will be created, improved and translated on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator by the participants.

8. Describe your team. Please provide their roles, Wikimedia Usernames and other details. (required) Include more details of the team, including their roles, usernames, Wikimedia group, and whether they are salaried, volunteers, consultants/contractors, etc. Team members involved in the grant application need to be aware of their involvement in the project.

Nnadigoodluck- Founder of Ibibio Group and Organizer and Coordinator of the project. I will be training the participants in the edit-a-thon.

Clarissagum- Experienced Wikimedian, Co-founder of Ibibio Group and Co-organizer of the project. She will assist in training the participants.

Ima-Obong Okon- Communication specialist (off-wiki).

Edidiong- Photographer (off-wiki).

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities? (required)

The target participants for this project will be people based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, who are Ibibio native speakers. To ensure the project's success, participants will be recruited through an outing or mini-rally.

As usual, the new participants who will be engaged in the edit-a-thon will be given a form in order to collect their data for registration.

When the project starts, we are going to teach the participants step-by-step and make sure they understand everything about Wikimedia projects and how to contribute effectively.

Participants will be taught how to register an account, Wikimedia policies and guidelines, and how to use all the Wikimedia editing tools available to them for a hitch-free volunteer experience. We will also teach them how to create articles on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator.

At the conclusion of the project, the participants are going to join our group, Ibibio Group, get added to our WhatsApp group, and follow our social media pages.

The participants will be receiving updates from us, and follow-up will also be conducted through one-on-one engagement, listening to their challenges, guiding them, and answering their questions, as the case may be.
