Atibrarian/Wikimedia for Digital Literacy: NLA @ 60th Anniversary
Libraries and librarians have been recognized as “key partners for development by proving meaningful access to information.” Overtime, librarians have further taken the role of ensuring quality and reliable information are consumed by all and sundry through active participation in campaigns ( such as 1Lib1Ref) to improve quality of information and/or articles on Wikipedia. Hence, this project is aimed at creating awareness of the Wikimedia projects among librarians, LIS educators in Nigeria and introducing them to newer methods of promoting digital and information literacy using Wikimedia platforms during the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Library Association in Abuja, Nigeria.
