Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. What content will the contest focus on, and why is it important to your community?

Wiki Loves Africa 2019 in Tanzania will focus on photo shooting activities under the theme PLAY along with training and sharing of knowledge on how to contribute to wikicommons. Photos which will be uploaded will be useful to write about African contents.

2. How will you let people know about the contest?

They will get information through our Social medias(facebook, whatsapp, instagram and twitter) as well as on our metapage.

3. How will you judge the contest and award prizes?

We will have a panel of 4 judges who will set criteria for best images and use these as a basis to select the best images for local awards.

4. For photo contests, what is the strategy to get images used on projects?

We will do some research on African contents (especially Tanzanian contents) that lack photo presentations on its articles and concentrate our photo uploading based on that. Also we will create some articles based on the photos which we will obtained so as to increase the Wikimedia project contents especially in Wikipedia. 5. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

  • Anthere (talk) BUT, I recommand a later closing date (end of March) since you want to do a closing ceremony and you will also need to do wrap-up and draw conclusions of what worked and did not work from within your team. Give yourself time to do that :) Anthere (talk)
  • I endorse this request as they did so well as a team last year! (and +1 with Anthere above) Islahaddow (talk)
