Endorsement from Bukky658 (talk)[edit]

I strongly endorse the Wikimedia promotion and training program in Kwami. Despite being a hub of culture and learning in Northern Nigeria, Kwami lacks active Wikipedia editors and initiatives. This project aims to bridge this gap, focusing on the region's prevalent language, Hausa, and ensuring sustained community engagement. The creation of the first Wiki community meetup in Kwami, combined with collaborations with established groups, promises longevity. By supporting this initiative, we're ensuring that Kwami's rich heritage and stories gain rightful representation on global platforms. I wholeheartedly back this proposal and urge others to recognize its importance 20:01, 31 October 2023 (UTC) Bukky658 (talk) 20:01, 31 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kwami is part of the historical hubs of Northern Nigeria. It is full of undocumented landscapes, arts, and rich culture. I have been there twice and I can testify to the diversity of languages and ways of life. In this community, the major languages in Northern Nigeria; Hausa and Fulfulde are spoken interchangeably which would also assist in the documentation. @YusufuAM is an incident of the local government with pure and direct access to the people via cultural and language bonds. He is also an experienced Wikimedia editor and I have deep trust in his capacity to deliver the project. Also, he has developed a long-lasting strategy that will keep the project alive with the establishment of a community. Therefore, I give Strong support Strong support to this project. In our digitally connected world, access to reliable and comprehensive information is critical for personal and collective growth. By supporting this project, we are enabling community members to have access to a wealth of information on various topics, thus fostering a culture of learning and curiosity.

Our community has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, which is a source of pride for all of us. This project will allow us to document and share our cultural history, traditions, and languages on a global platform. By doing so, we can help preserve our heritage for future generations and raise awareness about the uniqueness of our community.

Strategies include training programs and workshops to enhance the skills of community members in contributing to Wikimedia projects. This capacity building will empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to actively participate and make meaningful contributions.

In conclusion, the project is a valuable asset to our community, promoting knowledge access, cultural preservation, and collaborative learning. The chosen strategies are well-suited to achieve the expected results by engaging the community, building capacity, increasing awareness, and maintaining content quality. I wholeheartedly endorse this project and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community.

I Support this proposal, the proposal seeks to address the lack of Wikipedia editors and awareness in the Kwami community. The project aims to train and recruit new editors, prioritize the use of the local language (Hausa), and establish a Wikimedia editors' community in Kwami for sustainability. The team members have relevant experience, and the project aligns with Movement Strategy 2030 recommendations by focusing on cultural and knowledge gaps and involving underrepresented communities. This initiative has the potential to recruit new editors, create awareness, and contribute significantly to Wikimedia projects in the region.
