Add topicWelcome to Meta!
[edit]Hello, De-Invincible. Welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum if you need help with something (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Happy editing!
Hello Musaddam Idriss. A page you recently created was outside of Meta's scope and has been deleted or will be deleted soon; you might be looking for Wikipedia instead. In future, please remember that Meta exists for the documentation of the Wikimedia projects and that off-topic material is not accepted here. Thanks for your understanding. Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos for Hausa Community
[edit]You are invited to participate in WPWP Contest for Hausa Community!
Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos for Hausa Community is annual campaign where Wikipedians from Hausa Community UG add photos to articles lacking images. This is to promote the use of digital media files collected from various WP photography contests, organized by the Wikimedia community, on Wikipedia article pages. Photos improve readers experience, illustrate content, and make articles engaging. The campaign would also help sharpen the skills of new and existing editors.

Pilot Enrollment: Equity Landscape Metrics & Dashboard
[edit]Hi @Musaddam Idriss:
Thank you for your interest in piloting the Wikimedia Movement Data Landscape dashboard and metrics. Through this small pilot we will be completing pre-beta testing of these new metrics and tool functions. We intend to gather feedback from community stakeholders on the data elements and dashboard functions for improvements before launching an initial public dashboard. In order to proceed, we must ensure that all pilot participants meet each of the eligibility requirements:
- Have an applicable use case during the pilot period (February - March 2022),
- Commit to engage during the pilot period, and
- Agree to sign a data non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for early data access.
If you meet these requirements, you are now invited to next steps for enrolling in the pilot. In order to help us align virtual sessions with your use case interests and to send you the required NDA, we need you to complete a google survey to share your contact details. Use of the data collected by this survey form will be governed by our published privacy statement. Please complete the survey at your earliest convenience, and before the end of day January 23, 2022 to ensure needed turn-around time for the pilot’s start in February. Please also note that we will not be able to associate contact information shared via the google survey with your username we are communicating through here, so we will not be able to know if you have signed up and will switch to contacting pilot participants via the email they share in that survey submission. Thus there will not be further reminders beyond a note at the start of the meta consultation period in February. If you run into any challenges, please message us back, here on your talk page, so that we might assist you. Once again, we thank you for your time and participation. -- NaRay (WMF) (talk) 23:17, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
Reminder for consultation of Equity Landscape Metrics & Dashboard

Sending you a first reminder that the consultation period for the Wikimedia Movement Data Landscape has started and we encourage you to: 1. Review the high-level or detailed project documentation available. 2. Input to discussion prompts for directed questions and design considerations on meta. 3. Also, please reach out on the central talk page if you have any questions. -- NaRay (WMF) (talk)

Karai-Karai lexemes
[edit]Hi!
There is a discussion in Wikidata about possible deletion of some words that were contributed by User:Bakwaro and are marked as being in Karai-Karai. The words themselves may indeed be written in Karai-Karai, but the way they are organized is definitely wrong.
If you can understand what did User:Bakwaro mean to add and organize it nicely, they won't have to be deleted.
You can see the discussion at d:Wikidata:Requests for deletions#Lexeme:L1195932.
If you see that the words are indeed in Karai-Karai, but you don't understand what has to be done to fix their organization, I'll be happy to give you technical support about it.
Thank you! Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 18:49, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello sir,
- The entry was a list of Karai-karai names, I have edited the lexeme. Please have a look if there is any further issue to be addressed. Thank you. De-Invincible (talk) 05:56, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! Did you just delete everything after Aljèe? Perhaps a separate lexeme should be created for each of them? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 16:45, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

- Hello ma,
- This was not meant to be part of the WLA contest entries. We just wanted to make our photo walks and upload sessions fun and refreshing and in some parts we used AI tools like the TopmediaAI, Musicfy to composed the vocals and the music used in the song. There was no much room for the details to be shared while uploading the file that's why that info is skipped but if the file will cause any problem, then we will remove it or upload a new version as per your recommendation. Thank you so much for your understanding and guidance. De-Invincible (talk) 01:46, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

Join the 6th Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos Campaign – 2025 Edition
[edit]Dear Wikimedia affiliate community leader,
Thanks for organizing the previous editions of the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos Campaign in your community. We invite your community again to participate in the 6th edition of the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos Campaign, a global campaign taking place from July 1 to August 31, 2025.
Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photos, then add a suitable photo from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, Wiki Loves Monuments, etc.) over the years.
More than 80 Wikimedia affiliates have participated since the campaign was launched in 2020 and have added images to more than 400,000 Wikipedia articles in over 245 Wikipedia languages. Thanks to the volunteer contributors!
We now invite your affiliate to organize and lead the campaign within your community. As a local organizer, you may:
- Encourage individual members to take part by adding images to Wikipedia articles.
- Host edit-a-thons focused on improving visual content.
- Organize training workshops to teach contributors how to correctly integrate images into Wikipedia.
These activities will help build local capacity and increase visual content across Wikipedia.
Please note that for participants to be eligible to participate in the campaign, they need to have registered an account for at least a year before the official start date of the contest. That is, for the 2025 edition, they must have registered an account on or before July 1, 2025. The account can be from any Wikimedia project wikis.
The organizing team is looking for a contact person to coordinate WPWP participation at the Wikimedia user group or chapter level (geographically or thematically) or for a language Wikipedia.
We would be glad for you to sign up directly at WPWP Participating Communities.
With kind regards,
User:Reading Beans On behalf of the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos campaign 2025. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:43, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
