Some thoughts[edit]

Thanks for the submission. Your budget appears to be flexible and contains a pretty wide interval of costs, so it does not indicate what is the amount requested by this grant. I would suggest to set a fixed amount despite the fact you may have difficulties to do so. In addition, is this the first booklet that you plan to publish or you've done something similar before? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 21:10, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I support Kiril - as the project idea is IMHO OK - please clarify amount of money for which you apply. Polimerek (talk) 23:17, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The amount requested is 1750 €, as said in "Amount requested in USD or local currency". The budget below explains that some money may be spared. Nemo 18:00, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarification. I still think it would be better to list all the expenses with their specific individual prices that make a total of 1,750 €. You can simply put a note to inform that some of the money are likely to be spared. Best.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 19:24, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, this is already done at Grants:WM_FI/Tervetuloa_Wikipediaan!#Budget_breakdown. I've no idea how to break it down further, there are no costs beside printing and shipping. --Nemo 20:43, 11 May 2012 (UTC) P.s.: By the way, this process seems a bit weak in that it dosn't allow to attach proofs of the quotations; if you want to see them because ex post checks with receipts are not enough, please tell me where to send the documents, thank you.[reply]
It's not that much important to have a very low cost for the project, but to have a precise amount that covers all the costs for the project. If the project fits well within the mission of our movement, it won't be a problem even to support an expensive one. I think it's more comprehensible now and we will take into account the amount requested in the intro. We don't need any checks or receipts in this phase, and you can keep it as proofs for the report of the project. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 20:22, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is our first time publishing or printing anything. Pitke (talk) 12:33, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update[edit]

Quick update: WMFI has completed the adaptation of the leaflet to Finnish and has chosen to print with WMIT's printer as it's way cheaper. I received the PDF on 2013-04-24 and I (personally) paid/confirmed the printing on 2013-04-30 (on WMFI's president's direction); the leaflets will be shipped in the next few days and full expenses reporting will follow immediately after that.
WMFI needs:

  • a time extension: the "Minimum requirement for success" will be fulfilled only this month, the other two measures can be achieved and reported only after May;
  • directions on how to refund the WMF the unspent sum, which will depend on the leaflets' weight but will surely be more than 0 €, probably around 450 €;
  • confirmation that part of the money saved thanks to cheap printing can be reused for shipping: the cheaper shipping method we initially chose proved not perfectly reliable in another case, so we'd like to use another one which would cost more than 300 € if the leaflets weight more than 100 kg.

Confirmation by the grant point of contact will follow. --Nemo 10:49, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The above is accurate. Please consider these requests. --Nikerabbit (talk) 12:09, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Nemo and Nikerabbit: The above request for an extension and the change to the project budget of using 300 € designated for printing to cover shipping costs are both approved. I will update the grant submission to reflect the new project completion date. Your report will be due by 31 May 2013, although we would welcome a report sooner if you are able to complete it. Please find instructions for returning the unused funds here. Let us know if you have any other questions and we look forward to learning more about the results of this project.
