IRC群组联系人是维基媒体社群与Libera.Chat IRC工作人员之间的联络人；担任此职位时，他们不是基金会的代理人。 他们负责并掌管所有项目和语言的所有维基媒体IRC频道。作为工作的一部分，他们参与了隐身衣的管理。
联系人的准则是，除非他们有绝对的必要进行干预，否则他们不参与频道事务，并会让各个频道独立运行。这是因为大多数频道都有自己的社群，所以不能让联络人对每一个与维基媒体有关的频道都进行细致地管理。
The most common contact task (after settings cloaks) is to redirect misnamed channels or take over channels which are controlled by inactive users. Channel founders and access list members are left to run channels for the vast majority of the time. The contacts keep a log of actions here on meta, and there are occasional IRC meetings, where users can bring up any issues they might have in a discussion-based environment.
