Problem

Solution
Detect links such [[linkphrase]]<nowiki/> or [[linkphrase|visible_phrase]]<nowiki/> and remove the link and the suffix . Then the above text becomes linkphrase. Example fix.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 03:51, 25 December 2018 (UTC)

Also, you need to write better bug-reports, assuming that we may not be proficient in the language and will be viewing the problem through some algorithmic fashion. What I see in your linked manual fix is:-
"[[ఉదాహరణ వాజ్మయము|ఉదాహరణ]]<nowiki/>" gives way to "వాజ్మయము" (Exclude quotes)
Does that mean, every time there's a generic wiki-text of the form "[[X Y|X]]<nowiki/>", it shall give way to "Y"? (Exclude quotes)
Shall I ever expect encountering any other generic variants like "[[X Y Z|X]]<nowiki/>" or "[[X Y Z|Y]]<nowiki/>"? or something entirely else?
"[[ఇటుక]]<nowiki/>" gives way to "ఇటుక" (Exclude quotes)
Does that mean, every time there's a generic wiki-text of the form "[[X]]<nowiki/>", it shall give way to "X"? (Exclude quotes)

Thanks @Winged Blades of Godric for your response. This error happend due to a bug in Visual Editor some time back. We reported to the CIS team who offered to coordinate the action towards fixing it. I have not seen any response on that, but when I checked subsequently, the bug seems to have been fixed. We need to keep the visible phrase and remove the link syntax including link phrase if it is separate and the wikitext of </nowiki> following the link. Most of the links added in that manner were not sensible, as they were done by editor with inadequate skill of adding links. If you can restrict the correction to links that can be identified by a hanging </nowiki> preceded by internal link. Readable Books in Indic Wikisource

I need one stats tool for Wikisource, the example here, https://wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Indic_Wikisource_Stats/2019_March/Readable_books, it is manually updated now.Jayantanth (talk) 20:01, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Jayantanth Ji, What is the exact meaning of 'Readable Books', I know I tried it sometime before. But I was unable to catch it. I think you consider the Category:Index Validated as Readable book. But many of Indic Wikisource is not maintaining this category. So let us consider an example bnwikisource has 50 and sawikisocure has 0 Readable Books in Category:Index Validated as sawikisocure not maintaining Category:Index Validated. Neechalkaran Thank you for working, But the above question is still remain. If I am not wrong then you just taking the languages category from langlinks of wikisource:en:Category:Index Validated. But it will not work for all. Go wikisource:sa:विशेषः:IndexPages, You will find there are many books that Index Validated. But according to your page sawikisource is not exist. and your page is showing the 0 stats for knwikisource. Please go through wikisource:kn:ವಿಶೇಷ:IndexPages. The problem will create when user or some community will report about us that we are representing wrong stats. that's why I have not done this yet. @ping Jayantanth Da.--Jayprakash >>> Talk 15:03, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
@Jayprakash12345 and Jayantanth: If I am not wrong, this request is only for index validated books and not for indexed book. so whichever project has the category, will comeup in the stats. Twinkle menu errors on tewiki

Telugu Wikipedia twinkle rendering error

Telugu Wikipedia is showing an erroneous rendering of Twinkle menu with TW duplicated and bullets against submenus (highlighted with red border int he enclosed picture). Jayprakash12345 and others, Please help in fixing this.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 06:56, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Arjunaraoc Ji, For removing the duplication of "TW", You have to replace the following code in w:te:మీడియావికీ:Gadget-Twinkle.js

You can see in first code, Script is creating span two times. This is the cause of this.
For second one, Put folowing code in w:te:MediaWiki:Vector.css

Twinkle menu error again on tewiki

Twinkle menu is appearing default as drop down at a wrong place and the subsequent search box is pulled down from the menu line and it is placed after twinkle's last menu on tewiki. Other admins also reported this problem on tewiki. I am unable to share a screenshot as commons upload and tewiki upload command is failing. I am using firefox 77.0.1(64bit) on ubunut 18.04 snap version, Request User:Jayprakash12345 to address it as high prioirty, as it is disrupting editing as well due to overlaid TW menu and wiki search box. --Arjunaraoc (talk) 05:21, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

I would like to bring to your notice that this is ongoing issue in several languages, also there was a phabrecator ticket created by Urdu user Hindustanilanguage. Here is the link for the same. User script for image

@Jayprakash12345: Is it possible to create a user script for w:en:Category:No local image but image on Wikidata and w:bn:বিষয়শ্রেণী:কোন স্থানীয় চিত্র নেই কিন্তু উইকিউপাত্তে আছে. Objection about উইকিসংকলন:রবিমাস প্রতিযোগিতা ১৪২৭/ফলাফল in bn.wikisource.org

In the competition "উইকিসংকলন:রবিমাস প্রতিযোগিতা ১৪২৭" I have taken part and proofread more than 100 pages from these books named "নির্ঘণ্ট:শিশু ভোলানাথ-রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর.djvu" and "নির্ঘণ্ট:কাব্যগ্রন্থ (প্রথম খণ্ড).djvu". But in the result of the competition উইকিসংকলন:রবিমাস প্রতিযোগিতা ১৪২৭/ফলাফল it is being seen that I have proofread only 11 pages. Specially in the full analysis of the competition managed by Indic-TechCom I have observed that 23th and 24th no. books (above mentioned) has been added according to the book list but proofread by me of those books has not been counted. Is it possible to add Indic-OCR to VisualEditor?

Hi,

Is it possible to explore adding Indic-OCR to VisualEditor on Page namespace on Wikisource? I found some documentation around adding a gadget to VE here: mw:VisualEditor/Gadgets/Add a tool. Thank you for looking into this.

Request to fix a problem on the main page of Punjabi Wikisource

Dear Indic-TechCom members,

Help us regarding an issue which we are facing on the main page of Punjabi Wikisource. The main page shows that there are 200 works on Punjabi Wikisource. It always shows "200" number. About proofread counting on this competition

In the instruction page of this competition it was mentioned that, the competition would continue till 26 September 2020 23:59:59 UTC (India). According this time, I've proofread more than 205 pages on the last day of the competition but in the result page it was not counted. -- Rishikesh Roy (talk) 16:40, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Rishikesh Roy, the tool calculate time as UTC not IST. If that page saying the time calculated as Indian Standard time (IST), then organizers should set up time by adjusting IST and UTC. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 18:52, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Sentence editing for wikisource

  • Hello Jaiprakashji, Hope you had great fun in Diwali! and everything is well at your end.
  • I was looking for different scripts to edit pages, and specially something like w:en:Wikipedia:Wikignome_gadget which enables us to edit without going through edit window. Importantly one can edit single sentences too. I thought this would be really useful on wikisource. But currently it's not working on wikisource. It only works on enwiki.
  • Would you have a look at it and let me know if it's possible to get something like that for wikisource, which will allow us to edits single sentence. thanks QueerEcofeminist [they/them/their] 05:46, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
