Requests for comment/Global unlock for Ezekiel53746

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The following request for comments is closed. Closed as not done for following reasons:

  1. I do not see a consensus to unlock.
  2. Appeals to global lock should be sent to Special:Contact/Stewards to be considered.

Statement of the issue[edit]

Please see my current account's talk page here and WP:AN request here. In short, I want to appeal the block on the account at en~wiki and clear the mess I've made with it and other accounts. I feel bad that I still kept evading Ezekiel53746's block, let alone wasn't caught for it for years. I want to actually solve it. I was told that appeals will only be heard by the main account, but there's nothing I can do about that unless Ezekiel53746 is unlocked. Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:59, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Support[edit]

(start your !vote with "# {{s}}")

  1. Support Support This user was unfairly locked globally by a nonsense so-called-user called Kudpung. I will also propose global ban for Kudpung. --Alexa Bliss from WWE 02:30, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
...what the hell are you talking about? Who's Kudpung? Mathonius was the person who locked me. Are we talking about the same RfC? Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 18:32, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Kudpung: maybe only you can answer what you guys are doing for him.--117.13.95.94 03:06, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea what this is all about (I can't even do global blocks), but I would certainly support a global block for Alexa Bliss from WWE for trolling.Kudpung (talk) 18:00, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Considering it’s an IP and this happened over a month ago (as their only two edits on any wiki) that won’t happen. Vermont (talk) 18:22, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose[edit]

  1. Oppose and oppose this RfC: the stewards are perfectly capable of discussing this amongst themselves. Should anyone care about my view, however, this is someone who has evaded project blocks and a global lock for three years, and because they have been successful at lying to us for such a long time, they think they should be rewarded by us telling them the rules they were never following to begin with don’t apply to them. No, this is ridiculous. ROPE also virtually never applies in any situation of you actually read what the essay is advocating (i.e. it is not calling for unlocking LTAs...) and even if it did, it is an en.wiki essay that gets taken out of context all the time on that project to less than ideal results, let’s not suddenly start misapplying it’s logic to meta and global situations. 2. Oppose If this account is Pickbothmanlol, then certainly not. I looked at the SPI case, and there is a lot of abuse there. XenrøsE 02:50, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose perr TonyBallioni. Kudpung (talk) 18:03, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

@Zeke Essiestudy: The Ezekiel account is tagged as a sock of Parappa664, which is then comfirmed as a sock of PMBL. Is that you? If it is, you should request an appeal from that account. I looked at it, and it seems that there's quite a lot of abuse there. XenrøsE 00:26, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but the user account Ezekiel53746 cannot be unlocked by stewards, after it has been taken in 2013 by Mathonius. Web SourceContent Management System 13:19, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Web SourceContent: What do you mean? I don't see anything that would make it technicially impossible. The account is locked, that seems to be all. XenrøsE 23:20, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Xenrose: I don't know the password for PaRappa664 and Pickbothmanlol isn't actually me, even the checkuser said PaRappa and etc. are likely Pickbothmanlol, not confirmed. Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:00, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If possible, I think we could give some rope. Vermont (talk) 11:24, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See above. That essay isn’t talking about situations like this, and even if it was, the logic in it is pretty flawed: we don’t take actions to increase disruption just on the off chance they might not. The takeaway from unlocking or unblocking here would be “just don’t get socking and all will be fine.” TonyBallioni (talk) 13:02, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
...so then what am I supposed to do? How do I get myself out of the ditch I dug myself into in 2013? I can't be banned forever...right? Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:00, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think that 5 years is long enough. Give the user a second chance. XenrøsE 22:39, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
