This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum(_AT_)wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

2016 Community Wishlist Survey

[edit]

Hi,

You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.

The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Re: job queue and email notifications

[edit]

Re your question on #wikimedia-tech, email notifications fall in the group of highest priority jobs and are usually executed within few minutes, in the worst case a couple hours. If not, something is wrong. Was this your concern? --Nemo 13:57, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

No. It was just my guess. Now, I hope the current phab:T151196 problem diagnostic by Matmarex & Joe goes in right way. Ankry (talk) 14:03, 23 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please be more careful...

[edit]

Hello, Ankry. Although your efforts to help with the election are certainly appreciated, please leave adding requests to the check page to the bot. Your addition here included a duplicate template (I have already been checked previously on the list). Additionally, I noticed this seemingly accidental duplicate addition. Although I appreciate your willingness to maintain pages, your attempt here filed a duplicate vote. I have merged the votes (by the same non-eligible user) to resolve the aforementioned issue. Please be more mindful moving forward. --JustBerry (talk) 07:20, 14 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

MUltiple task

[edit]

Dear Ankry/ Dzien dobry

I looking for help to proceed with OTRS to confirm copyright of photos related to a scientific Prize and deletion of an article from English wikipeda. An editor nominated our article for deletion; he published another article with contradictory facts related to one laureate of the Prize. Requested scientific Referee Report will indicate that the editor published unacceptable scientific ideas, wrong historical data, and many other gross errors. Our article was prepared by a team of students and teachers experts in the field. Students used University shared IP during winter semester 2017-2018. Surprisingly, we were accussed of sockpuppetry. An experienced wiki editor can readily nominate article for deletion using 'strange' arguments which are simply, let say, frankly, 'funny' from the scientific point of view. Since we are not experts in wikipedia I am looking for a wiki expert who is able to communicate in English and Polish.

The Community Wishlist Survey

[edit]

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Affiliate-selected Board seats process welcomes your support

[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because you are active in the field of translations <3 The movement needs you! The Nominations phase has started for the ongoing selection process of two Board members, and the timeline is quite tight.

A Translation Central is available to help translators figure out what's been covered and what's left to do. Over the course of the next few weeks, your attention on candidates' profiles is particularly welcome.

While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates (namely Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish), you can also add others. If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word :) Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 13:20, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not lo.ws

[edit]

In your remark: "They can be deleted from lo.ws if you find this appropriate", you meant "lo.wp". Your meaning is clear from the context, but I thought you might want to fix that. [grin] - dcljr (talk) 18:43, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

The Research team could use your help

[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of your recent activity in the Translations namespace.

The Wikimedia Research team is developing a new algorithm that automatically recommends sections for editors to add to articles. Translations have already occurred for some of the few languages that we are testing in, except for Spanish and Russian. If you have some time in the next few days, please consider translating the short message (only 6 items) we aim to send out soon, in one or both of these languages. (And if you feel like you want to support your tester peers even more, you can do so by taking care of the related instructions page.)

Thank you! Jonathan Morgan & Diego Saez-Trumper, Wikimedia Foundation Research - 18:14, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Polish Wikisource event

[edit]

Hi Ankry, can you remind me when the Polish Wikisource event is going to be? Thanks, Nemo 13:37, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Nemo bis: it is planned 19-20 October in Warsaw. Ankry (talk) 14:57, 18 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help

[edit]

Hi there, translator! Here's a little token of appreciation for a recent effort you contributed to. Surprised? Well, the best is yet to come.

  • We'd love to send you this badge as an actual sticker. If you want, you can use this Google Form to communicate your address so we can ship it to you. Note that we will close the form on October 13, 2019, and all data will be removed shortly afterwards. Details about this external site are provided at the top of the form.
  • We also have this badge waiting for you on Wikimedia Space. You can use the form linked above to let us know what your username is on this brand new hub, so that you can get the award there as well. If you don't have an account yet, just go ahead and enjoy joining via Wikimedia login in just a few clicks. (And in case you hadn't heard yet, you can join the community of translators there as well).

Again, thanks for everything you are doing to make this movement a better (and multilingual!) place: please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions, and I hope to hear from you soon. --Elitre (WMF), 13:03, 28 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Community Wishlist Survey 2020

[edit]

Hello!

You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.

You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

UCoC: ich wersja plwiki a en- i meta

[edit]

Ahoj, Ankry,

Jestem na plwikiwakacjach (zgodnie z deklaracją sprzed miesiąca) i rzadko tam zaglądam klikając interwiki z Commons, meta czy es-, fr- etc. wik (gdy np. klawiatura całkiem mnie zaświerzbi :), ale komentując przed chwilą w plwiki słuszną propozycję stosowania poprawnych cudzysłowów, zauważyłem i twoje: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Kawiarenka/Zasady#c-Ankry-2021-08-21T11%3A27%3A00.000Z-dyskusja.

FYI, dwa dni temu sporządziłem byłem obszerniejszą listę uwag o PZP, ale szybko ją z plKawiarenki usunąłem, gdyż:

A. Przypomniałem sobie poniewczasie, żem na tych plwikiwakacjach.

B. Uwagi może zbyt kontrowersyjne: Nadzik by doświadczył deja vu.

D. Przeczytałem potem "diabeł tkwi w szczegółach", czyli nowe głosy w enwiki, prowadzące do wersjihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Universal_Code_of_Conduct/Enforcement_draft_guidelines_review z ich dodatkowymi Enforcement draft guidelines review itp.
