Hi there,

I’m Jethro, and I’m seeking your help in deciding topics for new IdeaLab campaigns that could be run starting next year. These campaigns aim to bring in proposals and solutions from communities that address a need or problem in Wikimedia projects. I'm interested in hearing your preferences and ideas for campaign topics!

Here’s how to participate:

Take care,

Future IdeaLab Campaigns results[edit]

IdeaLab badge 1.png

Last December, I invited you to help determine future ideaLab campaigns by submitting and voting on different possible topics. I'm happy to announce the results of your participation, and encourage you to review them and our next steps for implementing those campaigns this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteered time to participate and submit ideas.

With great thanks,

I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, Wikimedia Foundation. 23:55, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Giving credit when credit is due, your second paragraph on people responsible for the shambles Lila inherited is something someone really needed to say. I'm not so sure about the revolution you see and pretty much anything else. I also think it's actually good that WMF staff discusses important matters on wikimedia-l instead of conspiring on a private list like wmfall. Nemo 11:20, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

Nemo, I'm describing the view from the en.Wikipedia editor perspective. I'm very conscious that view may be missing some very important features. But the players in the current debacle should know how this thing looks from there. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 04:19, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
Uh, I realised that I lost the predicate of my first sentence! I was trying to thank you. :) Nemo 19:21, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
 :o) Who's on wmfall, Nemo? --Anthonyhcole (talk) 04:50, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
All WMF staff and contractors, I believe. I don't know how fast the old ones are removed and what "externals" are allowed to join. See mail:wmfall for more less. Another big one is mail:engineering. Nemo 22:48, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Nemo. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 10:07, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Whether you need a small or large amount of funds (up to $30,000 USD), IEGs can support you and your team’s project development time in addition to project expenses such as materials, travel, and rental space.

With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources 15:56, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

2016 Community Wishlist Survey[edit]

You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.

The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Advice for a grant proposal[edit]

Hi Anthony, I have made a new grant proposal draft related to the previous one about the academic reviewers. Your comments and suggestions will be appreciated. --Maunus (talk) 13:02, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
