re:Myanmar Wikipedia[edit]

Hello Evertype, I don't think it would be a big problem to grant You temporary status for this. I believe that is what I have proposed. It is technically the same You can do everything a permanent sysop can do too. It is just a quality check if local communities are too small. The status can be prolonged easily (just check back a few days before it expires and let us know everything is still fine), or made permanent if the local community grows.

I would say 3 months to start, please let me know what You think. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 11:32, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As said, prolonging is quite unproblematic, You just leave a note some days before it expires on the RfP page and that should do it.
It is correct that people were given permanent access in the past without local community approvals, but we also learned from the past and it seems to be sometimes very problematic, to avoid problems in growing communities we do it now that way and leave the interested people the option to prolong their status fast.
I would not see a problem in 6 months here either, I can see You have had a period from july to october 2007. Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 15:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can You please open a formal request on RfP, btw. what is going on in that vote on Thanks, --16:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
If Mr. Wales and the Foundation staff want you to have admin status on Myanmar Wikipedia, it may be more appropriate to request for him to directly assign the right rather than request it via the normal community means, which by extension also require a large community and overwhelming (typically 75%) support for the action. Please note that Mr. Wales is, himself, capable of assigning said rights without needing assistance from the Stewards. Alternatively, he could simply send a confirmation of the request to the steward mailing list, but there has been no such request yet to my knowledge. Sorry for the mixup! Mari Wikipedia in Incubator[edit]

Please, take a look at Talk:Language_committee#Requests for approval Meadow Mari Wikipedia. Nobody has answered yet on my last post week ago. --Сай 08:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I am glad to inform you, Language committee, that now Mari Wikipedia Incubator commutity has three active not-grayed out editors for last three monthes (look at statistics). So, the last requirement is meet now.
Also I want to add, that there will be a big conference in July, 10. There would be around 150 young mari. I will take part in this conference and intend to talk about Mari Wikipedia to involve more people to contribute. There are more chances that new participants will contribute to Wikipedia than to Incubator. So, I am asking you to consider approval of Mari Wikipedia before the start of conference(before July, 10). As for me, I have some technical skills. I can help you, for example in creating subdomain or in moving pages, etc. And of cource, if you think that mari wikipedia don't have something for final approval, please, write it here immediatly, so we can fix and solve all the problems before July 10.
Please, post your answer here --Сай 05:54, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Evertype!
There are a few unanswered questions on Talk:Language committee. As a member of the language committee, I am kindly asking you to reply to the users' concerns posted there. Please don't be offended if the tone of my last posting there sounds a bit harsh, as I was a little disappointed because some questions weren't responded to in a while. Thank you!

Batak font and IME[edit]

Hello, your font and IME are more likely to be brought in use if you submit a patch yourself; see mw:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector#Adding_fonts and mw:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector#Adding support for a new key mapping (input method) for instructions (if they are not clear, comment on talk please). --Nemo 11:06, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Superprotect status[edit]

Dear Evertype, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.

Feedback needed from LangCom[edit]

Dear member of the Language Committee, can you please try to answer some of the messages on Talk:Language committee (and its archive)? Many people are asking for updates and indications about their requests, but they are almost never getting an answer of any kind. Candalua (talk) 12:29, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Khowar is one of spoken 14 languages in Chitral(Pakistan). It will be useful to Khowar internet users to report news from worldwide. I strongly feel it deserves its own Wikipedia. Tunisian Arabic[edit]

As shown in the new edition of Ethnologue, Tunisian Arabizi (One of the Latin Scripts used for Tunisian) has been recognized as a common script for Tunisian Arabic. As it is the most used script in Internet, we will use it in Wp/aeb. I have slightly modified this method so that it can be converted to Arabic Script. I have created a script converter for Tunisian Arabizi and I will implement it with explanations very soon. However, I need to test it before. So, you are invited to change the name of Tunisian Arabic in Latin Script into Tounsi and change the editing software of Tunisian Arabic Wikipedia into Left to Right format. Thank you in advance. --Csisc (talk) 16:21, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Guianan Wikipédia Project[edit]

Hi, Im French, I come from French Guiana, I speak French/English and Guianan Creole, and It would be a Honor for Me, if You could just look a little the Guianan Wikipédia Project, Please, Its very Important for Me !!! LeGuyanaisPure (talk) 01:30, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help me Please ![edit]

Hi, I would like to know if you can activate the Guianese Wikipedia project, and please do not discuss it with another administrator, because I think I have sent too many messages; they do not want to answer any more, please, I did all that I was asked to do for this project, Check by yourself, it has been a year since I am told that they will activate it and create officially the Guianese Wikipedia, but they have not done anything so far, so please activate this project because it's really important for me, but it has also developed in me a huge stress, I think about it all the time and it drives me crazy to tell me that they will never approve of it, even though I did everything as they asked, please Create the Guianan Wikipedia! At least for a trial period, if you want just 3 months, but created the SVP, it's really important for me! LeGuyanaisPure (talk) 13:22, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please supply some sort of link. Evertype (talk) 13:39, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think about @Prz rulez:'s comment? This looks like contesting the rules of langcom and is it appropriate to you? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 13:39, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't my place to judge this person's opinion. Evertype (talk) 13:56, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
From Talk:Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Montenegrin_5, especially @Lujki:'s reviews, it must likely that you made some wrong things to them, to their Montenegrin peoples, so why this isn't your place to answer their concerns? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 08:42, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please, say sorry to @Lujki:, otherwise I will submit a RFC to fire you from langcom tomorrow! -- 08:51, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Do your worst, anonymous troll. I don't think I've ever said anything to that user, and anyway, what business is it of yours? Evertype (talk) 21:57, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's not from me, instead, it's about you, your reason of againsting Montenegrin. Also a new respond:Well... First of all this "grandfather clause" is causing a discrimination. I really can't understand that Bosnian standard has its own Wiki and Montenegrin doesn't. Secondly - I guess a compromise would be creating common Serbian/Montenegrin Wiki with possibility of 2 articles existing - one in Serbian standard and second in Montenegrin one. That would sort of solve the problem. Because, even if I know that Wikipedia isn't (usually) a reliable source for citing, it's not fair that Montenegrins can't use the Wiki material in their own standard. --2409:8902:9301:F7F8:661C:FD23:FBA4:F48 00:59, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just note: This section has been focused by Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Montenegrin_5, to which people are discussing your comments left on the langcom mailing list. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:49, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
