SRG reports

Hey PotsdamLamb, I notice you've been reporting a lot of IPs/accounts to SRG that have only edited one wiki recently, and often with very few edits. We typically don't globally block those. Please only report IPs that have engaged in recent cross-wiki vandalism (defined here as impacting at least two wikis within the last week). Even if you suspect that the IP may be used by an LTA, they still don't need to be blocked just because an LTA has used them.

@Ajraddatz Our admins have been non-existent lately. If you look at our VIP board you will see that. A lot of the ones I’ve been reporting are GRP or the other major LTA. They both due a lot of damage and when trying to post to SRG it gets blocked when the name is mentioned. We are supposed to request GRP and the other through IRC, per the instructions on the page. The others I have reported are cross wiki and I check global contributions before I submit them (two or three I fouled up on, so now I always check). Some of our admins like Vermont and Bsadowski1 are not replying to our VIP or IRC board but when I post on SRG IRC they will respond. I understand the desire to help, but if SRG gets filled up with too many requests that don't merit global action then it hurts everyone and can harm our response time. Stewards are not a replacement where there are local admins, and most of the IPs/accounts I have seen you report are not causing much vandalism (one or two edits). In the future, please revert and report to local admins - only seek steward intervention if the abuse is xwiki. Thanks, – Ajraddatz (talk) 05:19, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
