Help?[edit]

Hello, I believe to have need your help a lot about the rollbacking of the translations. I tried to dismiss the suspected modifications and vandalism found some time in the translations a long time but it doesn't succeed to anything, there is some minute I tried to rollback the vandalism made in a translation in ar again, but it doesn't even work while using twinkle. However that I am translation admis since. Should I be normally capable of it? or am I mistaken can be? what you counsel me? Regards--Grind24 (talk) 18:18, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, are you asking things like this one? What I did was, I deleted Translations:Privacy policy/173/az 2) then what you need to do is to go Privacy policy/az and click "Edit source" -> open some already translated text and make a null edit (don't edit the translation, just add a space, and then delete the space and you can save the translation. That does the trick). It's due to a bug in the translation extension. --Stryn (talk) 18:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes precisely, very good trick, without it I would be probably liveliness to turn in circle. And as speaking of bug in the extension of translation someone will be able to remedied there? Early invitation: join VisualEditor's 2015 Translathon[edit]

Hello!

You are invited to join the 2nd edition of the VisualEditor Translathon! It is a translation rally, focused on interface messages and help pages related to VisualEditor.

In order to participate, you need to sign up on the Translathon page. The top 3 contributors will each win a Wikipedia t-shirt of their choice from the Wikipedia store.[1] Translations made between July 15th and July 19th (CDT time zone) qualify.[2]

If you are attending Wikimania Mexico this year, you are also welcome to join a related sprint during the Hackathon in Workplace 1 - Don Américo, Thursday 16 July at 4:00 p.m (CDT) at the conference venue, so you can meet other fellow translators and get support if you need some.

Interface messages have the priority. You will need to create an account at translatewiki.net in order to work on them, if you don't have one. It is recommended to create the account ASAP, so that it can be manually confirmed in time.

You can also help translate documentation pages about VisualEditor on mediawiki.org. You can use your Wikipedia account there. You will find instructions, links and other details on the Translathon page.

Darinko~commonswiki[edit]

Hi,

Can you please explain why you used local renameuser to rename "Darinko~commonswiki" to "Darinko" on commonswiki? The account is now unattached and will need to be renamed again... Legoktm (talk) 21:12, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It was done as per the user request on April. At that time there was already a account on Commons (0 edits) attached to his/her global account "Darinko" which I renamed to "Darinko (renamed)", and it seems to be now "Darinko (renamed)~commonswiki". Both, "Darinko~commonswiki" (on Commons) and "Darinko" (global account) were his/her accounts and he/she wanted to merge them, but it seems that the Commons account is still not attached to the global account. Newsletter[edit]

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. Single User Login Account Merge[edit]

Dear Stryn, my Account on en wikipedia "User:AlterFritz" has been merged to "User:Alter Fritz~enwiki". The "User:Alter Fritz" has been mine years ago, but I forgot the password and created a new User "User:AlterFritz". You can see that by checking contributions and maybe even contribution fields. Is there a way to really "merge" the two accounts that I can again access to the "User:Alter Fritz"? Katsopas stevarina, tuleeko fi-wikin merkkaus "repeated xwiki CoI abuse" globaaliväkäsestä 84, joka on private. Miksi se on private? Kerro, mitkä fi-wikin muokkaukset ovat saaneet tagin (loki ei voi olla salaista tietoa, koska tagit näkyvät muokkausyhteenvedossa, jos ne vaan löytää). Niitä on kaksi. Ajattelin poistaa imperialististen globaalihäkkyröiden tuottaman roskan meidän wikistä, mutta pitäisi katsoa, onko merkinnöissä mitään järkeä. Ei tuon globaalin väärinkäyttösuodattimen ole ainakaan koskaan pitänyt lisätä merkintää "repeated xwiki CoI abuse", vaan "CoI concerns", tai sitten käsitän jotain ihan väärin. Oletko katsonut suodattimen historiaa? Jostain globaalista suodattimesta tuo on aikanaan tullut, koska se on englanninkielinen tagi eikä sitä ole suomenkielisessä Wikipediassa luotu. Se on tehnyt nuo kaksi merkkausta fi-wikiin. Haluaisin katsoa, mitä se on merkannut ja mihin se on tarttunut, ennen kuin tuhoan tagit fi-wikin sivuhistoriasta. Löytyi oikea suodatin: Special:AbuseFilter/46. Siihen fi-wikissä tarttuneet muokkaukset ovat tämä, tämä, tämä ja tämä. Wikisitaattien kahvihuoneesta olen huomannut, että se täyttyy englanninkielisistä ilmoituksista, joita ei kukaan lue. Osa niistä on hyödyllisiä, mutta esim. Visual Editor News on täysin tarpeetonta roskaa, kun projektissa ei edes ole visuaalista muokkainta. Sama muissa pienissä suomenkielisessä sisarprojekteissa. Kyllä Wikisitaateissa on visuaalinen muokkain käytössä, sen saa käyttöön tällä hetkellä beeta-ominaisuuksista. Kukin massaviestien lähettäjä kai tekee itse listansa, johon viestit lähtevät. Pitänee sitten tehdä kuten Wikiuutisissa, missä oikein lukee, että "Wikimedian massaviestit löytyvät uutiset -kahvihuoneesta." Siispä perustetaan roskakori, johon nuo massaviestit ohjataan. Noissa pienissä projekteissa on hurjan paljon tekemätöntä työtä. Ajattelin ensin keskittyä Wikisitaattien huoltamiseen, jos saan väliaikaiset yp-oikeudet, mutta erehdyin käymään Wikiopistossa, missä on kymmenkertainen tarve aktiiviselle ylläpidolle. Projektit ovat olleet oman onnensa nojassa suurin piirtein vuodesta 2008–2009 alkaen.
