Global renamer welcome
[edit]Hi Yamla, and welcome to the global renamer team! I am K6ka, one of your fellow colleagues (Both here and on enwiki, apparently). We global renamers have a mailing list for easy communication; please subscribe to the list here and then shoot Trijnstel an email to confirm it is you requesting it. In addition, we have an IRC channel on the freenode network called #wikimedia-renameconnect which you are free to join at any time. If you have any questions, you can ask me, another renamer, or on the mailing list. Thanks, and good luck! —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 21:46, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll likely join IRC on Monday. It's been a while since I used IRC. I've already been in contact with Trijnstel. :) --Yamla (talk) 22:31, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
Notes are not seen when a request is approved
[edit]Hey Yamla. I noticed that in this request, you left a note for the user in the "Notes/Reasoning" field while accepting it. Keep in mind that if you accept the request, messages left here aren't actually sent to the user and are only visible to stewards and global renamers. If you decline the request, though, then messages left here will be sent to the user via email. If you need to leave the user a note after approving of their request, it should be sent to their talk page. Thanks, —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 17:18, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
Unblocking me from Wikipedia
[edit]I would like to be unblocked from Wikipedia, because I want to apologize for my sock puppetry nonsense (i.e. abusing multiple accounts, making numerous edits on articles, etc.) My concerns about being blocked is that I made articles without reading the rules/policies/guidelines about making articles on Wikipedia, and I can't stop making numerous edits on articles. Please forgive me, if so, unblock me, please. Thank you. Cstoczyn (talk) 18:36, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- This is wildly abusive. If you contact me again in this manner, I will push for you to be globally blocked across all projects. You know perfectly well how to apply for an unblock. Use UTRS. --Yamla (talk) 23:00, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- And I do forgive them. All of them. But as blocks are non punitive and impersonal, I do not unblock them. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 13:25, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
24 hrs
[edit]How come after you disable your VPN you must wait a day before the block clears? I’ve been seeing your enwiki contribs for a little while and I am curious. Steven1825 (talk) 20:31, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I know en.Wikipedia deliberately keeps the block in place for 24 hours after you shut down the proxy or vpn, but it's not immediately clear to me why. --Yamla (talk) 20:37, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
- Just an explanation for the rollback, they are a sock of global locked user, per general DENY and disruption. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:12, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
Protection
[edit]Do you want your talk page semiprotected for a bit? Seem to be attracting some vandals DannyS712 (talk) 20:40, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, works for me. I'm only really active on en.wiki, apart from global renaming, so there's almost no reason for anyone to contact me here. --Yamla (talk) 20:47, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
This Seems Familiar

Your feedback is requested
[edit]Hello Yamla, We are conducting a poll of global renamers and stewards regarding some future toolings related to some rename requests. Your feedback is requested at the poll on VRT WIKI. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 00:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
Your feedback is also requested in my talk page
[edit]- Hello, Yamla. My elder sister and I are together discussing something on my talk page.
- We urge you and User:331dot to do so because you often appear on blocked users’ talk pages, reviewing their unblock requests.
- Thank you for your understanding.
