Discussion
[edit]A (current logo), B (proposed variant)
[edit]- This logo, kind of like the Wikiversity one, has slightly ambiguous depth. Obviously the middle "child" is in front, but they're all flat, and it should be on a different plane since it's closer, since we assume they're all the same size. Also, the sharp shape caused by the middle figure superimposed on the other two (in "B," the left hemisphere of the blue, right of red) is a little unpleasant. ALTON .ıl 07:38, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'd be fine with keeping this as the logo. What are the objections to this? – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Keep this logo. It is already perfect. Londenp 11:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Why two blue people in A, racial undertone here perhaps? I think they should all be colored differently like in B. colours in B better for heads and bodies. Take B picture and A font for best combination or maybe B is just all round better. SunCreator 14:56, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Too christmasy, no.--Afa86 17:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- Juniors will not be able to relate to this. SunCreator 14:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- no evident difference with the wikibooks logo, and SunCreator is right, writing with a quill, not a good idea.
- Do not keep for next round. Zginder 00:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- I like this logo the best of all the submissions, and I'm happy about the vibrant red-orange-yellow colorscheme of it. It's fun and iconic, although it might be a little better to find some kind of way to include books or children or something into it (although if that's not possible, no worries). --Whiteknight (meta) (Books) 02:39, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, this is a nice one. I think the J in WikiJunior needs to be a lower-case j though. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:50, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- I really like this logo. It is both simple and complex at the same time. I'm not so sure mike as to whether or not the j should be in upper or lower case. I quite like the uppercase version, though perhaps a variant with the j in lowercase couls be produced for comparison? Reece (Talk) (Wikibooks) 21:40, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Best. Keep uppercase. --198.185.18.207 15:08, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like this one the most. It's bright and cheerful and not boring like most Wiki logos. (Xania from Wikibooks English) --217.202.128.117 00:01, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Confused. What has three tables in a board room got to do with Wikijunior? Suitable for WikiManagement but otherwise thumbs down. SunCreator 14:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like it, it has been well done, and the color cominatiosn are fun to look at, although don't really know what the symblo really means, i could be a little more obvious. definitely upper cases for the firslatters of each word.--Afa86 17:40, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- I LIKE the text, although the tag should not be in all caps. However, the logo is a little complex (I suppose it resembles the Meta logo?), although great idea! ALTON .ıl 07:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I like this.Putera Luqman Tunku Andre 17:54, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is one of the best logos especially the font. If this is not chosen, perhaps we should at least use its text for the chosen logo. -- Felipe Aira 03:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Only works when seen as a big image. Idea of bookshelf doesn't work at logo size level. SunCreator 14:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
F
[edit]- I like this as a logo, but the symbolism is rather human rights, peace or equality than children, books or learning. Perhaps we could add the people(children) around the wikibooks logo instead of the globe?--Demoeconomist 21:05, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- This is excellent! Second best of them all. Maybe the children could be a little less genderless and a bit more normal looking. Concept is A++, image quality slightly lower. SunCreator 14:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]This logo is too much like the UNICEF logo. It feels like a rip-off. Although, the pastel colours work well with the whole Junior thing. The font is very 'kid-like' too.
LoobyLoo352
- I agree, and I have to worry whether we would even be allowed to use such a logo if people selected. --Whiteknight (meta) (Books) 01:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I have to agree too. Some people, espescially newbies, might even think that WikiJunior is some sort of joint venture/project by Wikimedia and/or UNICEF. It can be confusing, and a possible copyright infringement of the UNICEF logo. -- Felipe Aira 03:36, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- More a parents logo. Too complex. SunCreator 22:15, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Do not keep for next round. Zginder 00:04, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
H, I
[edit]- This is probably too difficult and complex for a logo. The simplest logos are often the most celebrated ones, for example the FedEx one is simply text, but has one several awards for its composition. It's a nice idea, but not as a logo. ALTON .ıl 07:48, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I made a new simpler version. Perhaps we can use it like the above(the Unicef-similar one). It could be used as a favicon, too.--Demoeconomist 12:15, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- There should be a technical problem that this logo is deformated. Please see the SVG-file at commons.--Demoeconomist 12:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is a very complex logo, and not very appealling too espescially the text. No offence to the creator of this logo, but this is the one of the worst nominations here. -- Felipe Aira 03:29, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Not being the original creator of this logo, I suggest to use it for a sign of "junior-suited article" or somethig like that instead of selecting it as a new logo of Wikijunior. If somebody wants, he/she could continur the simplification or change/add an idea to it to make a competitive logo of the current one.--Demoeconomist 20:57, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- I suspect that the issue of race will get in the way of this logo becoming a serious candidate. --HappyDog 14:33, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Complexity doesn't work here. SunCreator 14:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- This logo could be suitable to convert in a favicon, but I can understand that nobody comments for this proposal, because we can't understand what that red thing is and why the globe is splitted etc. It should also have a version with a higher resolution.--Demoeconomist 21:00, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like it, just make it bigger so we can all see. SunCreator 14:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- We should not bring this to the next round. Zginder 00:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
K
[edit]- This seems more appropriate for the Foundation; nothing about it really evokes "junior." ALTON .ıl 07:49, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- With the Wikibooks Logo we had the problem that it used the colors of the Wikimedia Foundation logo. (see Wikibooks/logo/archive-vote-5)
- When the colors of the WMF logo aren't possible, then we shouldn't try the logo it self.
- -- MichaelFrey 09:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I agree no symbolism whatsoever of WikiJunior here. It seems like a courthouse to me. -- Felipe Aira 03:31, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- WikiCourthouse. No thanks. SunCreator 14:59, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- We should not bring this to the next round. Zginder 00:13, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- I love the colour combinations. This would be good if we'll have 1, 2 and 3 for the Wikibooks logo. -- Felipe Aira 03:26, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's okay, but nothing more SunCreator 15:00, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- what were the critera for choosing such colors? looks lkike a flag, maybe Rumania's--Afa86 17:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
M
[edit]- The stick-figure is a good identificator for children. --Matthias 20:22, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- The light colors in the background are beautiful, but they make this logo simbolize the health or balance. I would suggest to take the colors of the logo of the WIKIMEDIA FOUNDATION. I'm not sure whether it would be better. Please test some colors.--Demoeconomist 21:09, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes both appealing for adults and children, I think. Londenp 11:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Its sooooo cute. It's simple and colorful. The stick fgure is a good identifier for kids, but "identificator" is not a word. Kari hyena alligator thing 17:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- This is just awesome of a junior's logo. My favourite. Maybe adjust the shading of blue a little more brighter. SunCreator 14:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- very nice, very child-like, but at the same time, it keeps the wikipedia proyect idea intact. a litle more color, brightness could be good, as SunCreator states.--Afa86 17:42, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]- I actually like this more and more for the Wikijunior logo. Perhaps with different colours, but the design is good. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:51, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's a little bit too simplistic for my tastes. A change in colors might be nice, but I'm not sure that's enough to really make this logo "pop". --Whiteknight (meta) (Books) 14:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- This is looking nice. Ravichandrae 08:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like it but we must add wikijunior at the bottom, it will be great to have more colors Vivelefrat 13:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Colours are good. I like it. SunCreator 14:51, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
