From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

The Wikimedia Foundation holds, as of June 30 2020, $95,302,300 of short-term investments and $12,293,520 of long-term investments. The WMF's investment philosophy "favors preservation of capital, income and liquidity over capital appreciation, which has higher volatility".[1]

History[edit]

In 2013, Rockefeller & Company was the WMF's financial adviser.[2] In 2014, U.S. Trust was selected as the investment advisor for the Wikimedia Foundation.[3] WMF's assets were transferred from Rockefeller to US Trust in 2014-2015.[4]
