Contexte

Wikimedia Tunisie (arabe : ويكيميديا تونس) est le groupe d'utilisateurs Wikimédia pour la promotion des projets Wikimédia, d'autres projets de contenu gratuit et de l'accès à la connaissance en Tunisie. Il a été reconnu le 28 mai 2014 comme le premier groupe d'utilisateurs dans les pays arabophones.

Objectifs

  1. Représentation de la Wikimedia Foundation en Tunisie.
  2. Établir une base et une référence pour tous les Tunisiens dans Wikipédia et tous les autres projets Wikimédia.
  3. Promouvoir et développer le contenu lié à la Tunisie.
  4. Organisation d'activités, de rassemblements, d'ateliers et de différents projets pour les contributeurs.
  5. Unifier les efforts des contributeurs sous un même parapluie, en particulier ceux qui ont des compétences techniques.
  6. Rassembler les contributeurs qui vivent à l'étranger et leur demander de se concentrer et de faire des efforts pour améliorer le contenu, en particulier ce qui est lié à la Tunisie.
  7. Unifier la contribution dans les activités internationales, telles que les concours Wiki Love… et autres.

Événements

Wiki Loves Earth 2025 in Tunisia was organized for the ninth consecutive time. This year, over 300 photographs were uploaded, and a shortlist of 15 images was submitted to the international team. Participation levels were lower compared to previous editions; however, the competition benefited from the significant contribution of one participant who uploaded a substantial collection of photographs.

Art+Feminism 2025

As part of the Art+Feminism program, we organized three workshops in three different schools across Tunisia. The aim of these workshops was to provide women with the opportunity to learn about Wikimedia projects and to actively participate in Wikimedia activities. Through these sessions, participants were introduced to the importance of contributing to free knowledge, while also addressing the gender gap on Wikimedia platforms.

Women’s Day in Tunisia

As part of the celebration of Women’s Day in Tunisia, we organized a presentation on Wikipedia and the issue of the gender gap within the platform, particularly the low participation of women contributors. The event also included a short demonstration on how to create a Wikipedia article about women, highlighting the importance of increasing women’s visibility and representation on Wikimedia projects.

Wiki Loves Monuments Workshop

As part of the preparations for the Wiki Loves Monuments Tunisia 2025 contest, we organized a presentation to introduce the competition and its objectives. During this event, we also updated the lists of monuments on Wikipedia, adding all newly protected monuments. This workshop provided an excellent opportunity to prepare for WLM 2025 while raising awareness about Tunisia’s cultural heritage and encouraging participation in the competition.

  • What’s Next for the Remainder of 2025

In the coming three months, Wikimedia Tunisia will organize Wiki Loves Monuments 2025, including a dedicated photowalk in southern Tunisia to document monuments in collaboration with the Tunis Photo Club.

In addition, preparations are underway for the “Wikimedia Tunisia Tour” project. This initiative aims to organize six workshops in six different towns across Tunisia. Following these workshops, the most promising participants will be selected to join a large Wikipedia edit-a-thon, where they will collaborate with experienced Wikipedians to contribute high-quality content.
