This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

Any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion, though only stewards may use {{yes}} or {{no}} templates.

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global sysop for Axpde

I'm sysop on commons trying to settle the caegories of bad named icons, duplicates and alike. Sometimes CommonsDelinker can't change occurances because pages are edit protected. Global sysop will help manually delinking in case of smaller projects. My SUL account is active on more than 300 projects, with edits on more than 120 projects. Regards axpdeHello! 15:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry, but global sysop is not really given out for the purpose you are requesting it for. As stated at Global Sysops, the flag is used as a global anti-vandalism tool to assist smaller projects that have few to no local administrators. Tiptoety talk 17:26, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    On my way half around the world and back I came across a lot of vandalism, global sysop will help me reducing this alot. On the other hand Global Sysops states it's for the purposes of routine maintenance as well. And that's what I initially requested it for. axpdeHello! 21:09, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may wish to consider requesting global rollback rights instead. -FASTILY (TALK) 06:45, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But with global rollback I can't change protected files CD wasn't able to work on ... axpdeHello! 17:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Weak support. I don't think global sysop is really meant for this, but having a Commons sysop reach out to other projects to correct file names is a good thing. --Erwin 19:45, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Maximillion Pegasus

Hi all, I am Maximillion Pegasus. I'm a sysop on the English Wikisource, simplewiki and the Oldwikisource and am already a global rollbacker. I understand that global sysop is simply a tool for anti-vandalism and will never attempt to override local consensus. Thanks for your consideration. Global IP block exempt for user:Kegns

I am a sysop from zh.wikipedia. Because of the censorship of mainland China I need a global IP block exempt for editing with open proxy. Many thanks, --Kegns 05:49, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
