This page hosts requests for a Bot flag on a Wikimedia wiki with no bureaucrats. Please read the instructions before posting a request. Request to remove own permission should be done in SRP.

Please only make request here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community (i.e., don't list your bot here if you haven't consulted the local wiki for at least a week, or whatever local policies dictate). Previous requests are archived.

Instructions

Before posting here

Before posting here, please check the following points:

  1. If there is a bureaucrat on the local wiki (visit Special:ListUsers/bureaucrat on the wiki to check): Please ask them to fulfill your request using Special:UserRights on the relevant wiki.
  2. Before requesting access here, make sure to obtain consensus on the local wiki if there is a community (see the index of request pages). If there is no local community, request on this page with a note to that effect. You can ask local bot flag directly here for some wikis in some cases (see automatic approval).
  3. Remember to read the local project's bot policy. This should be linked from the local bot request page; a few are listed below. DO NOT post your request here without having fulfilled the local policies first, and having waited for at least a week to gauge community opinion. In the case that the project does not have a local bot policy, the global bot policy applies.

Making a request

  1. Place the following code at the bottom of the "Bot status requests" section below:
    === Bot name@xxproject ===
    {{sr-request
    | status = <!--don't change this line-->
    | domain =
    | user name =
    | discussion =
    }}
    (your remarks) ~~~~

    You can use following form when applying global bot status:

    === Global bot status for <yourbotname> ===
    {{sr-request
    | status = <!--don't change this line-->
    | domain = global<!--don't change this line-->
    | user name =
    | discussion =
    }}
    {{indent|''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+2 week}} UTC''}}
    (your remarks) ~~~~

  2. Fill in the values:
    • 'domain': the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
    • 'user name': the bot's user name (like "ExampleBot"). Leave it blank if you're requesting access for multiple bots.
    • 'discussion': a link to the local vote or discussion about the bot (for example, "[[ex:Wikipedia:Bots#ExampleBot]]"). Notes: If there is no local vote or discussion, please say so below the template and explain why not. If there's no community, implement the standard bot policy instead.
  3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Global bot status requests

Global bots are enabled on most wikis using the standard bot policy (see list of global bot wikis and global bot access requirements). Request will typically be left open for several days to allow comments. Please add requests at the bottom of this section.

Global bot status for Vagobot

I would like global bot flag for interwiki and redirect. Vago 09:00, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You mean for fixing double redirections ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:08, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Vago 09:33, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken a look to your bot contributions again, and now it seems to work properly to me (something that could not be judge¨d in your previous request).
Any opposition ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:55, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I decided to request for global bot status after your advice and I believe to you. Vago 11:12, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The bot has been running on interwiki only for a short period of time and has only 50k contribs on other wikis than its home wiki. In my opinion, this is not sufficient. --Mercy 11:20, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it is necessary to consider!Vago 12:04, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is also worth consideration. The bot owner does not respect local policies as well as local sysops/bureaucrats and floods recent changes even after being warned. From a global bot owner I would expect maturity and adherence to local policies both of which Vago actually lacks. --Mercy 13:06, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Of course I respect the local policy, but I do not know which of these politicians' rights: "We don't need another autonomous-only bot, but for severals edits can run without flag." and "Your bot is flooding our recent changes. Please wait until it gets approved."? Vago 13:33, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That are local policies. Try to make your bot run on big wikis like enwiki, dewiki, frwiki, itwiki, etc. without a bot flag, and you will see that the problem does not come from Mercy at all. You should run your bot slowely when you don't have the flag. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 13:37, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It seemed to me that the most difficult to enwiki. I think that they have admins and bureaucrats more experience. They wrote me how much edits is needed for the bot status and finally don't saw the problem with interwiki and gave a status. But on cswiki until then, I do not know what else can I do to get bot status. Only with the behavior of Mercy I see that I will wait without the edits at infinite time.Vago 08:12, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Vago, I am afraid that you don't understand us properly. First you were blocked for running an unapproved bot. After some time, a local bureaucrat unblocked your bot and allowed it to edit as long as it edits from time to time and doesn't flood local recent changes. This morning, however, your bot started flooding the recent changes again, and because of that I blocked it again. Is it clear for you now? --Mercy 14:36, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I already understood you well from that moment. Insha'Allah in other wikis, too, will a request for bot status, and I hope will be successful and without your global status will be working (my status will be a global - cswiki). Vago 04:32, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Frankly, I'm now getting concerned about your communication-skills; I understood the words, but the way you string them up doesn't make much sense. What languages are you able to use effectively in case you'd have to respond to complaints? Seb az86556 10:11, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you ask?Vago 05:59, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bot policy#Bot account: «operators must be available to answer any comments» (in bold). Nemo 15:11, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On my user page it was revealed at what level I mastered the language.Vago 16:51, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please create bot user pages on all projects you are editing. There are many projects where your bot has edits, but the operator can not be simply identified. Merlissimo 12:35, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And your localisation and config file seems to be very old. Changes from the last two five weeks are missing. e.g this update Merlissimo 13:37, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of global bot status

Please see the policy for global bots for the requirements that must be met for global bot access.

Bot status requests

Please add new requests at the bottom of this section.

Bot operators making bulk requests, please consider applying for global bot status and helping implement the standard bot policy on small wikis to simplify and streamline the bulk request process.

KamikazeBot@csbwiktionary

I would like to request bot flag for interwiki. In csb Wiktionary isn't no any local bureaucrat. Karol007 18:44, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since there's no local policy that allows automatic approval, please make a request on the community discussion page first. Jafeluv 19:31, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Same times ago I requested one of the admin, where can I ask about it. From this time in csb.Wikt all edits in this project do made only my bot or others bots. But, if it is required, it is no problem. Karol007 20:04, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vagobot@jbowikipedia

I would like to request bot flag for interwiki and redirect. Thanks! --Vago 13:04, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if marking interwikis as FA is covered by the standard bot policy... It seems to be part of interwiki maintenance, so I'm leaning toward granting, but I'm not certain. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 12:53, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done.--Jusjih 09:58, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, adding FA templates is not allowed by standard bot policy. --Mercy 10:53, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Jusjih for status. You can take off status - For me indifferent. Best regards, Vago 07:12, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GedawyBot@plwiktionary

It made more than 100 edits.--Mohamed ElGedawy Talk 13:52, 28 October 2011 (UTC) [reply]

Hello. It would be cool if you could make your bot run slower on projects you don't have the bot flag. Else your bot is flooding the recent changes. Although your bot seems to work correctly on this project, I would also like to ask you a question : why are the interwikis added on the top of this page instead of at the bottom ? Thanks -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:02, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. About your question, I don't know why! But i think bots can not verify that interwikis are at the top of pages or at the bottom, They add interwiki automatically where the other interwikis are.--Mohamed ElGedawy Talk 07:39, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Any problems else?--Mohamed ElGedawy Talk 13:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please wait at least a week. Your request was posted locally just a couple of days ago. --Mercy 13:42, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is a local 'crat that will close the request locally when the delay will be over. Please see this and this. Cordially, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 14:49, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
