Syntax highlighting for code snippets in mobile app

Problem: No syntax highlighting while reading articles with code or Lua modules in the Wikipedia mobile application

Proposed solution: simply integrate syntax highlighting in the code surrounded by <code/>

I created a ticket for this problem. phab:T180332 (Forgot to sign this before —TheDJ (talk • contribs))
This is something the Android app team has looked into, and there is a basic prototype. Generally, the challenge here is around performance (ie. making the highlighting be quick enough to be useful).   - Oh, thanks Ryan Kaldari (WMF) I should have read more carefully. In that case I think the ticket linked is the right way to go.
