An initial reflection[edit]

I think it must have adequate resources to start your business. Regarding expenses necessary to legalize WPMX, or pay taxes, agency, etc., seems very good. Nothing to say.

But there is an issue for me is very important, we need equipment that describe how to start the business? Have its own building where everyone can share equipment grant for that request?

Do not you think it might be more important when starting your business, to cover travel expenses, necessary to promote the activity, and get more people interested and work with the WP? --Josepnogue (talk) 18:05, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I understand that it is just a startup grant - but I am worry that in your budget proposal there are in fact only office-legal costs + cost of producing some promotional materials. What about your projects? Are you willing to do them based on your own resources, or you are about to apply for another grants from WMF? Do you plan to have your own sources of income? Thank you for commenting Josepnogue and Polimerek. I think I can answer at same time both. During two years, even before our recognition, we have been working and developing projects and Wikimedia goals in our country. Despite we didn't have money, we have many active projects. Our members are located in all our country, for these reason we can promote our movement wherever, only trough delegating people. When has been necessary, universities, partners and associates have covered the travel and stay expenses.
Mexico is really large, that's why we have this way of work and it's the same reason we need currently movil equipment (Video projector and portatil computer) although we don't have an office. If we focus our budget over travel costs it will become really expensive.
For future projects, we are planning to get resources from our partners just like until now, plus membership fees. We will apply for new grants only when strictly necessary. Salvador alc (talk) 20:25, 22 June 2012 (UTC) 20:24, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the submission. For me the request is fine and the only concern is regarding the purchase of equipment. It is something that has used to be always a matter of discussion, so is there really any reason to start using this equipment? We usually don't support purchase of equipment for any particular project because of its ownership afterwards and the possibility to borrow it from a chapter or the Wikimedia Foundation. Kiril, we're thinking in the use of the equipment in a long term, and for any member of the chapter who needs it. In some cases, like events and meetings, we don't have the support of a video projector (it's expensive), and the laptop it's considered for the use in edition in audio and video too. Postage costs[edit]

Because of the importance of the documents, we estimate the cost with insurance and express delivery certificate by DHL or FedEx. But we can choose a cheaper cost and adjust the budget without any problems. --ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 22:36, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
That's why I asked specifically about non-express mail. The documents are important, but neither urgent nor irreplaceable, so there's no reason not to send them by simple registered mail. Could you get us a price quote for that? Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 21:35, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Ok, It's possible. You say that the papers aren't urgent nur irreplaceable, however it are expensive. We will send you certified copies, wich are generated by the notary and every copy would cost around $3.00. If the copies would lose, another ones was more expensive that a DHL or FedEx service. You must to know that the mexican postal service is terrible. That said, these kind of services in Mexico costs only 2 dollars, sic [1]. Salvador alc (talk) 17:04, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Report past due[edit]

The report for this grant is now past due. It was due within 3 months of the project completion date, or by the end of October 2013. WMMX is currently out of compliance with grants program requirements. Please submit this report right away, and let us know if you have any questions about submitting it. This project was scheduled to complete in July 2013, and a final report was due by the end of October 2013; therefore, this grant report is now past due and WMMX is out of compliance with program requirements. WMMX will not be eligible to receive funding from WMF until it submits all past due reports. We ask that WMMX contact grants at wikimedia dot org immediately with an update on the status of this report, or that they reply here on the discussion page.
