Global bot status for HydrizBot

I am currently running this bot to add interwiki links to Wiktionaries. My bot started since January 2011, and made quite a bit of interwiki additions to >10 wikis since then. Yes indeed. It is more complicated to run this bot on Wikipedias and other projects. This bot will just edit Wiktionaries and add interwiki links. --Hydriz (talk) 09:13, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

I understand that concern about those blocks, but firstly, I am not going to run it on Wikipedias anymore and secondly, this bot was blocked on eswiktionary not because of my bot's issue, but it is just simply making 100 test edits so that stewards can actually flag this bot, but the admins weren't too happy about it. --Hydriz (talk) 10:01, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
A global bot flag flags the bot not only on Wiktionaries, but also on any other site/project. The blocks need firstly to be figured out, otherwise you'll hardly get this flag. Furthermore, the bot used to welcome people on simplewiki (this is why it has been blocked there) and also did other things like this. It was flagged on el.wikinews because I was the person involved in importing the pages over to this new wiki from the Wikimedia Incubator, and I needed a bot to do a change in the category prefix. See the change in rights. For simplewiki, its on Wikipedia, and I am not going to run my bot there in the first place. --Hydriz (talk) 10:43, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

There is no "Wiktionary-only" global bot flag. No matter where it is intend to run, all blocks need to be figured out first. -Barras talk 13:56, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
It is totally pointless to request unblocks for accounts that will never ever be used again. Unless you unmerge that account, it is pointless to ask for an unblock (or if such simple bending of rules cannot be made, then I can just create a new bot account with the same purpose). --Hydriz (talk) 14:54, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

I have removed the block on simplewiki so that this request can proceed more smoothly. The block reflected the facts at the time on simplewiki. Given the promise of no wikipedia editing I feel the block can be lifted. fr33kman 23:16, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello. We don't use to grant global bot status to interwiki bots that have less than 100.000 changes. For interwiki bots, it's a clue of experience : you have to be sure that your bot works well enough to leave it unmonitored on small wikis, where nobody or almost never watch the bots recent feeds. The edits I saw indicated no activity for two years on the requested wikis so I think it was fair to ask for some edits. If you have evidence of your activity elsewhere that you are relying on in order to get bot on these projects then it is up to you to bring that to our attention. Now that you have, I still think that each request for local is a separate thing; if not then global bot. Sorry, but since Japanese Wikipedia does not allow automatic approval and has active local bureaucrats, you have to get the flag locally. I suggest you to ask the local bureaucrats personally (I had the same problem and I tried the same way in few wikis) on their talk pages or try the community portal page. Marking as Not done.
