Am currently blocked due to 'cross-wiki spam' by user: Bastique; however, there is no way this is true as any edits that have been made on this IP address were made regarding the history of our company. We do not use wikipedia to spam users. The preceding unsigned comment was added by HayGroup (talk • contribs) 17:41, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Global unlock for konst2010

Status:    Done

Hello. This user now is locally blocked in da.wikipedia for a week, but he has troubles with access to all wikipedias. I don't understand how it happens, but i think, that he has global lock now, despite the fact that global logs are empty. If so, I'm asking you to remove global lock and to explain this situation. Thank you. --Rave 12:40, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

I want to add that he was blocked without any warning, that a week is too long for this case in any way, and the links doesn't seems like a spam. Lvova 12:45, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
The one week block on da.wiki without any warning is a local issue. After looking through the users contribution I can understand that there is a global lock on the account. He has included the same links on about 90 different languages, and that could be considered cross-wiki linkspam. The lock is in the log here. -- Tegel (Talk) 13:07, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
He has a normal contribution in ruwiki, so 'spam-only account' isn't true. It was a one day when his behavior was strange, I agree, but I don't think that these links are spam (nationalgeographic.com is exactly okay, and the second may be discussed). There are days when I illustrate articles as he added these sources, for example. WP:GOODFAITH. Lvova 13:17, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Yep, the account was locked by Mardetanha as a spam-only account. They do seem to have been spamming the same external links in a large number of projects. Jafeluv 13:10, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
I have no problems with globally unlocking him, but how can we make sure that he won't repeat this behavior? Mardetanha talk 13:31, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
According to da:Brugerdiskussion:Pixi_Uno#user:Konst2010 the problem is nobody said to him that the fact of adding links outside footnotes in large quantities is evil in any case regardless of which links he adds. I'll say him that he shouldn't do it. If I'm wrong and he has bad intentions - he doesn't add links on pornosites, the harm is small, and the next block will be forever. Lvova 13:39, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
ok. I just unlocked his account but please make sure that he is aware of Wikipedia policies and as you said next lock would be for ever Mardetanha talk 14:12, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Lvova 14:20, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
The user is still blocked on da-wiki. We hate cross-wiki-spammers, and interest in this user's actions, makes us just more aware of the insertion of links from user and friends. Best regards for Wiki - --Pixi Uno 02:14, 1 October 2011

(UTC)

It is possible now for me to express? I was editing article "Libya" and "Economy of Libya" and added external references to magazine National Geographic, Executive Intelligence Review etc. It seems someone has excited that references to these sources (and authoritativeness of these sources isn't subject to doubt) have been laid out in a short space of time at once in many language sections. And it have considered as cross spam. Actually I wanted to lay out them only in some sections: English, German, Danish, Spanish. But has then decided to look as affairs with article about Libya in other language sections are - and has seen that in some of them article consists only of one name. Then I have started to insert there at least references, what already would be some contribution (that here bad?). And, probably, I was fond... Konst2010 03:14, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Be happy. You are still blocked in Denmark because of your actions. - But here, people are more happy for you! If you had interest in each article, you had never done this stunt. Don't do inter-wiki spam Mr. Russia and friends!!! Best regards --Pixi Uno 04:26, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
When you were rude in dawiki, it was probably still acceptable, but being rude here on the Steward requests page - it looks funny at best, and may lead to consequences. Lvova 21:13, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Account locked by Matanya at 21:12, June 25, 2011, for cross-wiki abuse, since as a private website, Wikimedia has the legal right to lock any account from editing its pages, or accessing its content, even without reason. This being said, you're not trying to be jerks. Nor do you plan on being jerks. You do hope that I stay, and help you to build a better Wikimedia. There's lots of work to be done, and everyone who's willing to contribute constructively is needed. Including me. I don't much care for creating another account with the same or another user name. Requested by the man himself, from his usual school IP --193.136.124.200 21:42, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

cross-wiki spam: created his user or user talk pages in many projects; only content of this pages: his eMail adress --Schniggendiller 10:56, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

I don't see how adding your email address on your user page could be considered spamming. Jafeluv 13:40, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Imho it’s spamming because there’s no other activity of this user in any project. If one of us placed his email adress on his user page, okay, even if we would do in every single project. But a new user? Is there any need to communicate via email if you’ve done nothing here? Maybe he confounded Wikipedia with Facebook or another social network ... Crosswiki abuse? I've done more 10.000 positive edits, I believe that there is no reason to block me for cross-wiki abuse. But it's possible I don't want to collaborate anymore. I have received too dissatisfaction, even if I'm in good faith. And I understand it after this. Therefore please, you ought to block me. --Frigotoni ...i'm here; 15:03, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
Stupid me, I totally missed the point and thought someone else requested this as a hoax. But anyway, please, relax and take a break from Wikimedia if you desire. Self-requested lock will not be performed the same as self-requested block imho.--Bencmq 15:14, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm a productive contributor on Commons and on en.Wikipedia. I've been blocked at en.Wikipedia as a sockpuppet of Poetlister/Runcorn, based on Checkuser, but I'm not the same person, and I have been using unsecured networks which may have been previously used by him. However, while I was appealing my block, my account was globally locked, so I am unable to continue with my block appeal at en.Wikipedia. I therefore request that my account be unlocked. --82.21.30.229 11:19, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Comment IP addresses used on enwikiversity do not match any known IPs belonging to Poetlister. Ruslik 13:18, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
"Female" identity, knowledge background that doesn't necessarily fit, and geolocates to the UK. I would compare the IPs used by Longfellow (Poetlister) on Wikisource if you want something more recent - the Stewards should have some record of it in their emails. Done, I have researched this request and have also been fortunate to speak to some other stewards and I believe an innocent mistake was made here and that the user in question is not related to Poetlister by any technical means. There is a diversity of edits, different ISPs, different technical data. I am therefore unlocking the user and encourage individual projects to contact with me to discuss local blocks being lifted, if appropriate. fr33kman 21:08, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
