Will the UCoC be subject to a vote on Meta?[edit]

The given answer is: "No. One of the top five requests of the community during the movement strategy discussions was to counter harassment on Wikimedia projects." I don't understand. Is this supposed to be an explanation? In other words, "something was one of the top five requests of the community, that's why we won't let the community vote on it"...? What am I missing? -- Chrisahn (talk) 03:41, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if the Wikimedia Foundation can be held accountable for the abuse of power, privilege, and influence that creating such an explicit code of conduct applying to all projects without the consent of each individual project's community constitutes.
Oh, wait. They can't be held accountable because they are the supreme authority behind everything Wikimedia. Go figure. What was that saying about absolute power, again? Tharthan (talk) 01:14, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Absolute power, at least in some sites, is more about the admins of a wikimedia project site who face impunity after a long time of "learning" how to avoid explicit abuse. The foundation has a code of conduct already Ircpresident (talk) 23:35, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with the link?[edit]

Is there a problem with the link in the sgeuinte question? "7. How would a UCoC violation be handled in real life, for example, at Foundation or Wikimedia affiliate events where the wmf:Friendly Space PolicyFriendly Space Policy is also applicable? Which policy would take precedence?" The tag seems to be incorrect in translation machine.--Felipe da Fonseca (talk) 20:02, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Felipe da Fonseca, I fixed that link. Please let me know if it still presents strangely in translation interface. Xeno (WMF) (talk) 15:12, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Xeno (WMF) Now it's perfect, thank you.--Felipe da Fonseca (talk) 15:23, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The links to the answer to the following question are missing: "4. Will the UCoC and its supporting documentation be available in all languages?"--Felipe da Fonseca (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Need to push and extend Template:Undergoing translation to each lang page[edit]

Why not update and show <translate> {{Template:Undergoing translation}}</translate> at once? Pls consider wise use of translators as resource, or imho don't waste time/energy toward our 2030 goal and esp the excitement supporting localization/propagate knowledge of wiki and the Movement. Omotecho (talk) 11:17, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the reminder Omotecho: I've gone ahead and marked the recent changes. Xeno (WMF) (talk) 14:01, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are amazing foreseeing two or three steps ahead (: thank you always watching over, cheers, -- Omotecho (talk) 17:13, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How far the term breaches refer to? (translation: UcoC/FAQ segment #95)[edit]

I am lost at tranaslating breach(es). There are two meanings which sounds a bit different from each other aka 違反 and/or 不履行.

  1. what does it mean by ? Breaking rules,
  2. or not ounteracting such rule breaking,
  3. or both?

FYI, I have picked up those terms/phrases which will be marked for jawp local grossary for jawiki-WMF area.

  • Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee
  • additional investigations
  • breafh(es)
  • take actions
  • circumvent or disregard

Tl:UCoC_version_history; the date is rolled back?[edit]

It looks rather strange that on the Table_of_versions template, it's updated, but the date is rolled back. What is the message? Would it be very necessary? --Omotecho (talk) 05:48, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Broken link in Q14[edit]

Question 14 currently links to

Special:MyLanguage/Universal Code of Conduct#Learning from and reflecting behavioural policies from across the movement

The English version of that page does not contain any such section, nor did it the day the link was added. To what is this link supposed to refer? Thanks, Bernanke's Crossbow (talk) 03:47, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Where the ***##[][#Ç∑[|]®]°†≠ui43zqpzq FAQ can I file a case?[edit]

Hi there, I am wondering where and how I can file case and am reading and researching now for about half an hour. To file a case is the most important thing that should be at the header of the Universal Code of Conduct. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 02:22, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, don't know how this happened, it should have been redacted in a bit more funny way, but yeah, this is about what I felt. Who cares on the twenty or so pages on how this Universal Code of Conduct was assembled? So somehow this was published.Ok:) I'd like to file case, how can I do it?Paradise Chronicle (talk) 02:26, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And to explain a bit further. I was indeffed after 8 uncontroversial good faith edits for Sockpuppetry in the German wikipedia for edits in the English Wikipedia. After a bit less that 2 years, I filed an unblock request after I stumbled into some difficulties when I applied on the English Wikipedia to the Wikipedia Library. I was WP:OUTED by a former German admin at least twice before and I was initially not able to vote in the very election on approving the Universal Code of Conduct. My unblock request was declined at the time even though I made it rather clear I have no interest in returning to the German Wikipedia. I mainly want to be unblocked so in the projects I am active in, the sysops and wikipedia system (like when applying for a permission like the Wikipedia library or voting in a wiki project) don't get distracted by the block in the German wikipedia. I might add some images to some articles and also take part in Sysop elections in the German Wikipedia to make sure admins are aware that OUTING in specific and harassment in general is not ok, but I'll likely stay mainly focused on other Wikimedia projects.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 03:47, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On the English wikipedia some advice is to be found here.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:33, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well it was there, it is now here and I hope this stays. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 08:16, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I finally found out there is no UCOC body that receives or answers to complaints concerning UCOC violations. A timeline of the establishment of such a body is to be found here. No clear date is mentioned yet, the UCOC U4C charter ratification process is to take place in October 2023, and next steps will be published maybe in October or November 2023. If someone with more knowledge than me can give some additional information, they are welcome to add a comment. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 18:59, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
