I oversee staff support functions for several volunteer committees and groups, including Arbitration Committees, Case Review Committee, Elections committee, Ombuds Commission, Stewards, and the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee. My team works to ensures these groups have access to the support they need to operate smoothly. Capacity Exchange: July-August 2026

After three years of development, Capacity Exchange (CapX) has entered a new cycle. Funded through a Wikimedia CH grant, from July to December 2026, we will be working to bring the tool to communities around the world and gather feedback from users, with a particular focus on community managers and leaders.
In this cycle, we are focused on building relationships with community managers and leaders, introducing them to CapX and exploring how it can help them carry out their work more easily and with better data to inform their decisions. We also want to understand how the tool could be improved for this audience and explore ways of adapting it to their needs.
Finally, we are presenting the possibilities of working with the CapX API to develop tools and solutions tailored to specific community needs.

Capacity Exchange: September-October 2026

What happens when a community that knows what people need meets a platform designed to help people share what they know? We saw a measurable effect on CapX itself during the outreach for the second EduWiki Mentorship cohort.
On 16 June 2026, CapX had 1,510 users. By October, that number had grown to 1,669 an increase of 159 users, or approximately 11% during the period in which we were actively promoting the mentorship opportunity.
The second cohort received 66 applications from mentees and 29 from mentors, with participation also expanding to include more technical specialists and people working in languages beyond English. By August 2026, the cohort had begun with 17 mentors and 23 mentees, following the successful completion of the first cohort with 6 mentors and 10 mentees.

- From our partner - Using CapX API to build amazing tools
Starter Kit is a new tool that brings together guided tasks, tools, and resources to help new and small language Wikipedia communities get started, monitor their progress, and collaborate with the broader Wikimedia community. The tool is being developed by the Wikimedia Foundation’s Language Onboarding and Development initiative.
The current design responds to these questions through three main components:
- Essential Tasks: Provides step-by-step guidance for completing six essential tasks, including translating the Five Pillars policy page, translating core interface messages on Translatewiki.net, and adding categories to articles using HotCat.
- Community and Collaboration: Helps communities connect with contributors and specialists through the Capacity Exchange (CapX) platform, recruit native-language speakers, and find relevant global teams and networks.
- Activity and Growth: Provides an overview of indicators that can help communities track the wiki’s activity and development. These include active editors, topics attracting the most readers, and newly created and deleted articles. A visual timeline also shows the wiki’s progress toward selected article and administrator milestones, up to 50,000 articles and 10 administrators.
