Open meeting for patrollers[edit]

Hello, Tegel and anyone else who is watching this page:

The mw:Editing team is starting a new project, mw:Edit check. They are particularly seeking the views of RecentChanges patrollers and other reviewers. One of the open questions is: When should the visual editor encourage people to add a citation?

The meeting will be this Friday, 3 March 2023. More information is available at mw:Editing team/Community Conversations#3 March 2023. I hope that you will be able to attend, but if you aren't, please consider leaving your advice to the team on the talk page. They would particularly value hearing about the citation standards at different Wikipedias, and also what you think the biggest problem is with the first edits made by new editors. It seems you may have globally blocked the above user. [3] I'm curious to find out more about this user's long-term abuse, in detail, if at all possible. I'd like some guidance as to how such information can be found, as I've failed to uncover anything.

They may have an active, recent sock in this account, whom they "attacked", spoofing an admin, 03:40, 4 February 2023‎, using nearly half a million bytes (revdel-ed). Unblock Revision?[edit]

Hello, I'm a little confused. A block was added to my account by an individual with the handle "John Alsburg". I followed the procedure described to request an unblock and that user later came and deleted the unblock template and removed the block on my account. Several minutes later, you came and reverted that user's changes. So, I'm curious: am I still to be blocked? Please advise. Thanks.

I can't see that your account is blocked or haven been blocked in the past. The user "John Alsburg" was a cross-wiki vandal so all the users contributions where reverted. It contained information that you put there, so why did you put it there in the first place if it is personal information? Removing the section doesn't make it disappear, and at the same time you removed other users contributions. Rollback[edit]

Hi! I'm curious as to why you reverted my edit made on the GLAM Wiki 2023 page (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM_Wiki_2023). "Hague" is not a place that exists within the Netherlands[1] and "Netherlands" is not a country. "The Netherlands" (with a capitalized 'The') would be used in this context.[2][3]
