Expression of Interest: Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025

Dear User,

I hope you are doing well. We are pleased to inform you that the Open Knowledge Initiative team at IIIT-H is organising an event called Advanced Train the Trainer. The Expression of Interest is already open for submissions, and we encourage you to apply if you are interested or haven't applied yet. The deadline to submit your Expression of Interest has been extended until 26 August. The Advanced Train the Trainer (ATTT) 2025 will be held on 10, 11, and 12 October 2025 at IIIT-Hyderabad. Wikimedians from India will be a part of the event.

ATTT is designed for experienced Wikimedians, particularly those who have previously participated in Train the Trainer. The program aims to develop further their leadership, thematic expertise, and practical application skills. The training will be conducted in two thematic tracks:

• Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling – Learn to measure, analyse, and narrate the impact of Wikimedia initiatives through hands-on labs and peer feedback.
• Project Design: From Learning to Action – Work on a 3-month project with mentoring and planning tools, turning learning into impactful, context-driven initiatives.

• Deadline to apply (extended): 26 August 2025
• Event Dates: 10-12 October 2025

Note: If you are unsure about which track to choose, please still submit your application by answering the questions thoroughly. Our team will review it and assign you to the most suitable track. If you are not comfortable applying directly on Meta, you may send your proposal (using the Meta template and with a valid reason) to nitesh@research.iiit.ac.in. If selected, the OKI team will publish it on Meta on your behalf.

Editing dispute on ماں (2025ء فلم)

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation about the Bollywood film Maa (Hindi: माँ, Urdu: ماں). On this film name, the candrabindu appears, which matches the nasal n sound (nun ghunna). I edited the Urdu Wikipedia article ماں for this 2025 film. I clearly explained in my edit summary where I got the info from, including the candrabindu and nasal sound. I am honestly exhausted because of the situation I'm facing on Urdu Wiki. Some time ago, a user told me that I was trying to enforce one single dictionary across the entire project. To be fair, he wasn't completely wrong. I should have used the talk page first, and I admit my mistake.

Later I found out that the dictionary I used was Qamoos ul Istilahat by Shaykh Minhajuddin, published by the Urdu Language Regulatory body of West Pakistan. The discussion eventually ended, so I didn’t continue it further. The same terminology still exists in that dictionary, I think in the entry related to Oceanus (Rabb-ul-Bahr).

But after that, the same user jumped in again, pointing out that I had applied the term in one place but not in another. Even after giving my explanation, their attitude didn't change. I don't know what personal issues they might be dealing with in their own lives, but it feels like they bring that frustration into Wikipedia.
