Hello, I work for Wikimedia Taiwan as an international collaborator. Sometime we will announce news and competition organized by WMTW that need meta page translation. For example, Wikimedia Taiwan/The Chinese Wikimedia Open Meeting on the 2021 Foundation Official Action. If I could be a translation admin, I could directely mark the page for translation, especially when the content was originately in Chinese, help speed up any announcement regarding our activity, and release burden for other admin. Beside working for WMTW, I am a volunteer in Wikidata and Wikibase project. Thank you! --Joycewikiwiki (talk) 04:40, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Joycewikiwiki, please prepare for translation the page you linked. If you observe our Internationalization guidelines, I will surely support your application. -- Pols12 (talk) 18:37, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Pols12! Thank you so much! I couldn't find the page you just shared with me, this is very useful. I had add all the tranlation tag in this article Wikimedia Taiwan/The Chinese Wikimedia Open Meeting on the 2021 Foundation Official Action, let me know if there is anything I need to do, and thank you for helping the translation of WAM pages. Thank you for your edit; you have well segmented paragraphs and lists, but there are some other issues to fix:
  • You shouldn’t close a translate tag just after opening a new one (except if it has been open on the same line than it is closed). So, you just have to let an empty new line between a heading and a paragraph, without closing translate tag.
  • You should not include a full block template inside translate tag. For Clickable_button, only the label should be localized, I think. If the URL also needs to be localized, you may let the full call inside the translate tag, but you should probably wrap template name and class parameter inside a tvar.
  • You should wrap most link targets as possible inside tvars. For Meta-Wiki local page, prefix the page name with Special:MyLanguage/.
  • The #translation magic word automatically adds the /<lang_code>, so you should remove the /zh which was added previously.

Hello Pols,
Thank you soooooo much! I had made the changes. But I am not sure if I am doing it correctely. all the best. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 11:59, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is better, thank you! Still some issues, yet. (sorry! 😅)
  • The empty line between heading and paragraph should replace closing and opening translate tags. Please remove
    </translate>

    <translate>
    and only let an empty line to separate the heading and the first section paragraph.
  • Since the translate tag may add HTML tags with equal sign =, we should not use them as anonymous template parameter value. We should use explicit numbered parameter.
    So, you should turn {{Clickable button 2|<translate>… into {{Clickable button 2|1=<translate>….
Also, some notes:
  • The tvar names must be unique only inside the same unit, not in the full page. Each empty new line creates a new unit. Each opening translate tag creates a new unit. So you can reuse the name "1" for the zhwiki link target.
  • Outside of translate tags, empty lines haven’t any impact on translation units. Empty lines after and before lists in your edit were not requested.

Mmmh… Minorax has fixed the issues (and also added the missing language bar, I did not notice that lack). I think you would be able to fix them yourself, so I Support Support your granting. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:42, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Pols12!
Yes, Minorax had fixed the issues. Many many thanks for teaching me so much. I will pay attention to all the detail next time. Was preparing for the coming ESEAP conference, sorry for the late responce. Joycewikiwiki (talk) 10:57, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Please follow the advice of our TAs presented above. Thanks! --Sotiale (talk) 06:08, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
