Wikimania Hong Kong Bid

[edit]

Halo Beria thx for your question on our bid's talk page. Actually we're rather busy working in the real world for the bid, as business will closed in our Chinese New Year holiday, then we will update our page in the holiday. So more info of our bid will be available on the page. Once things is almost complete, we will make it official. So this is just a notice for our update, and thanks for your kind attention. -- ※ JéRRy ~ 雨雨  ※  Was?  ※  18:10, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding my participation in WikiWomenCamp

[edit]

Thank you ma'am, for the timely inquiry. The amount I requested for includes the expenses for myself and my guardian. As I am only 20 years old and unmarried, I would need the assistance of a (male) guardian to help me travel to a place as far as Argentina. The cultural practices here does not allow unmarried, underage women to travel abroad alone. Besides, if funded, this would be my first trip to abroad, and I would not be able to manage travelling alone in a foreign country. I would also need to travel to New Delhi, which is around 1205 miles away from Kozhikode, the place of my residence for the VISA interview. I am an undergraduate student in medicine with no earnings of my own, so I will not be able to participate in the WikiWomenCamp without scholarship/sponsorship. Flights from India are not very expensive. I plan to travel on the cheapest flight available, which, as for now will cost me 1660 USD per head (Subjected to increase as I delay my booking). I might require to travel 700 miles to reach Mumbai airport, from where this flight departs. The money I have requested for is a rough estimate and I shall come up with the exact amount after learning about the expenses to be met at Argentina. Nice to know that User: Karthika would make it for the camp! Thanks again! --Netha Hussain 13:24, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi ma'am, I am looking for women from India who would be attending the conference, so that I can work up a travel plan with them. In that case I would not need to go with a guardian, and my travel expenses could be reduced to half. Thanks! --Netha Hussain 12:12, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Babel template on your user page

[edit]

Hi Beria,

Per Meta:Requests_for_deletion/Archives/2011#Template:Babel - the user language template is depreciated. I changed it back on your user page to babel but to use an alternative format so that you don't see the "user language" header. Is this what you wanted? :)

Acompanhamento de solicitação

[edit]

Funds Dissemination Committee: Your thoughts welcome

[edit]

Hi Beria,

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation is working with The Bridgespan Group to develop a Funds Dissemination Committee (FDC) and a process for allocating movement funds to programs and other projects (as a reminder, here is the board resolution). Over the next months, we will be developing the FDC structure and processes. As we do this, we invite you to share your thoughts on how this process can best support the movement’s mission in a fair and transparent way.

If you’d like to provide input, we’re happy to engage with you in multiple ways – through the FDC Community Engagement page, by email, Skype, or IM. Feel free to reply here or to leave a message on my talk page if you have any specific questions or if you’d like to get in touch!

Thanks! Meera Chary, from the Bridgespan Team --Meerachary TBG (talk) 17:55, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
