Hi! This page (created by you) states that in case of any differences between the translation and the English original, the original takes precedence—however, there is no link to the English version of the page. Could you please add it somewhere (in a language select bar, link directly the “eredeti angol változata” text etc.)? Additionally, it speaks about “új felhasználók” (new users); however, on the Hungarian Wikipedia, from where this page will be linked, user is translated as szerkesztő (literally editor), so I think it should say “új szerkesztők”. (For example, the User: namespace is called Szerkesztő: there, not Felhasználó:.) Thanks in advance, —Tacsipacsi (talk) 16:59, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tacsipacsi: Thanks! I've updated the statement. I don't speak Hungarian, so please let me know if there's any remaining issues. LMixter (WMF) (talk) 19:00, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I’ve been a bit busy IRL lately, but I hope it’s not too late:
  • A felmérés célja
    • In the translation of “potentially use their feedback”, “potentially” was simply left off—instead of “és felhasználhassuk a visszajelzéseket arra, hogy új funkciókat hozzunk létre”, I’d say “és adott esetben felhasználhassuk a visszajelzéseket arra, hogy új funkciókat hozzunk létre”, or even “és adott esetben felhasználhassuk a visszajelzéseket új funkciók létrehozásához”.
  • Milyen információkat gyűjtünk?
    • Instead of “szerkesztői név”, use “szerkesztőnév”
  • Az információk megosztása és közzététele
    • “szerkesztői név”→“szerkesztőnév” once more
    • There should be no comma in “más, személyes információdat”
    • “szabadon megfogalmazott válaszodban” → “szabad szöveges válaszaidban”
    • “Amennyiben szeretnéd, hogy kapcsolatba lépjünk veled és segítséget nyújtsunk” → “Amennyiben kéred, hogy kapcsolatba lépjünk veled, és segítséget nyújtsunk” (instead of “szeretnéd”, use “kéred”, as well as an extra comma)
    • “e-mailen keresztül” → “ez ügyben e-mailben” (translation of “for that purpose” is missing in the current version)
    • The terms of use link goes nowhere. It should point either to the official ToU at foundation:Terms of Use/en, or to its Hungarian translation at Terms of use/hu here at Meta. (I prefer pointing to the translation.)
  • A felmérés válaszainak licence
  • Fontos információk
    • “felhasználjuk, amint az az adatvédelmi nyilatkozatban szerepel” → “felhasználjuk a jelen adatvédelmi nyilatkozatban foglaltak szerint”
    • “a jogosulatlan hozzáféréstől, vagy az általunk kezelt adatok felhasználásától” → “az általunk kezelt adatokhoz való jogosulatlan hozzáféréstől vagy azok jogosulatlan felhasználásától”
  • Also, there are a number of language links at the top of the English version, but Hungarian is not among them. Is that intentional?
By the way, who translated this? A volunteer? Some agency? (Not that it would be that bad, I’m just curious.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 17:33, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Tacsipacsi
The translations has been made by volunteers, who are native speakers. Would you please coordinate with others on Phabricator, and then provide a stable version for this translation that is okay for everyone?
Thank you!  :) Trizek (WMF) (talk) 13:07, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I reached out to the translator on Wikipedia so that we don’t spam everyone’s Phabricator feed with these details. I’ll make sure to contact you when the review is ready. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:15, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2022 submission

[edit]

Dear Leighanna,

On behalf of the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2022 programme committee, I am pleased to inform you that your submission "How Russia’s war in Ukraine impacted the wiki ecosystem. The situation so far" has been accepted as a lecture. Considering that the conference will have language interpretation from English into Russian and vice versa, you have the choice between English and Russian as a language that you will use in your session. If you have not yet registered for the conference, please fill in the registration form. In case you have any additional requests or questions, do not hesitate to contact me or any other committee member.

Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 10:31, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
