The range was previously used by a lot of people to vandalize a Wikimedia project or projects and was blocked to protect that project or projects. To be precise, this range was mostly used for the creation of bot accounts and we've received enormous spam from those accounts. We believe that the range may have been used as a proxy server. So we had to block the range to protect the project from spammers. Meantime if you unfortunately affected by this IP block you can request IPBE right. FYI, the website's community is inactive and there are no admins in the site. It needs great deletion of lots and lots of trash articles and pages and I'll delete them. Maithili Wikimedians Mission 10

Maithili Wikimedians volunteer members has taken a challenge in itself i.e. Mission 10. The focus and aim of the challenge is to complete 10,000 articles on Maithili Wikipedia before the end of this year 2016. As of November 30, 5,555 articles were made on Maithili Wikipedia. From the 1^st of December until the 31^st of December the challenge will run on Maithili Wikipedia. The challenge is divided on 2 basic parts Online and Offline events. The online event is focused on creating articles and offline parts is about meeting with Maithili speakers from different parts of Nepal. Dear Nahid,

My name is Farhad & I'm mainly active on Meta around Wikipedias in the languages of Russia project. This is a request for guidance on the issue I am not quite confident how to address.

About a year ago I discovered that all of my homewiki bureaucrats (past and present) do not recognize not only Founding principles (we have a formal vote results for this), but also Terms of use & Licensing policy, as they have been actively growing ttwiki by Copy-Pasting copyrighted materials from elsewhere, and are against deleting this material now. (my best estimate is up to 3000 articles).

My community didn't seem to care, so I brought some Russian-speaking people from other wikis (with admin, bureaucrat and ArbCom experience in RuWP/WN/WMRU to talk with the current bureaucrat, then tried following the procedure prescribed by the newly adopted local policy on removing Copyright violations - to no avail: local Copyvio Noticeboard's history witnesses to entries being reversed by the bureaucrat, who meanwhile continued adding copyvio content himself.

I feel I will certainly have to stop logging newly discovered suspect articles into Copyvio Noticeboard, as the bureaucrat in question has just given me a warning by blocking me for a week for adding one more Earwig's Copyvio Detector-confirmed entry thereto, classified my procedural persistence as harassment of admins on my part, and threatened with a permanent unilateral ban should I continue.

From whatever I've found on Meta (and it's here that I need your help), I am unable to conclude if:

1. this deserves an RfC,
2. if a different avenue is best to address the issue (as I wouldn't want my homewiki being deleted & its community losing faith and interest in Wikimedia projects) or
3. if it's best to put a stone on declared WMF principles & policies, and just do other things to grow my homewiki & its community with the hope that eventually things will get better.--Frhdkazan (talk) 19:43, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

I own the IP: 58.97.129.225 (Real IP from Banglalion). I have never "spammed" and at best edited Wikipedia Articles only 3-4 times in my life. So why am I being blocked?

All files I uploaded are used in Wiki pages, by me only on Walloon-speaking wikipedia and Wiktionary. They are own photographs, taken since the 1980's, or old pics out of copyright mainly about Walloon writers.

I’m Erick Guan, the coordinator of WAM 2017. Welcome to Wikipedia Asian Month 2017. Here is some information about organizations of events at a national level.

Timeline

The event lasts a month for the participants. As of the beginning of the event, please:

• Invite previous participants to join. We have a template you may want to use.
• Setup your WAM page in your local wikiproject if you haven’t done that.
• Link your WAM page at Wikipedia Asian Month 2017. It’s important for others to understand and connect to your community! Remove the X when you done that. WAM is organized at national level. So I have to ask you to put your country in front of your name if you haven’t done that.
• Publish a notification about WAM in site notice as well as village pump. Go public!
• Connect with us. Generally send me an email so that we can reach you for future information!
• Become the jury member in a campaign on Fountain which is an amazing tool for you to supervise participants’ articles. If you don’t have the campaign set up, please contact us! And put a link to your community’s campaign page for participants’ navigation.
• Organize a off-site editathon event. A coffee bar, internet and laptops. Though it’s optional. If you want to do that, please contact me.

In the following days, you should answer the questions from your community and supervise the submissions. Hope you have fun!

Sinterklaas and Saint Nicholas Day

Dear NahidSultan,

I was blocked on Commons one hour ago.

I made interrelations between two groups of pages, that had probably been created separatedly (though it is the same subject).

Now that I can categorize it correctly, I wanted to illustrate a special event, still NOT existing on Commons: the feast in the Belgian community in Morocco. The selected pics were chosen in different years (2 or three per year).

I do not think it is an abuse.
