Thankyou for making this Twinkle global, It's very helpful. -- CptViraj (📧) 14:53, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You may refer to SWViewer/config.json for the speedy templates (and reasons) in various wikis I think. --WhitePhosphorus (talk) 05:03, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TwinkleGlobal 的速删理由[edit]

@WhitePhosphorus: 這個似乎只在commons, wikidata, meta, mediawiki才使用,似乎不夠通用,所以移除了。你可以在設定頁面自訂加入該理由。--Xiplus (talk) 00:13, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle[edit]

您好。请问是否能在Global Twinkle加入”use {{cot}} and {{cob}}"选项?Minorax (talk) 14:03, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Minorax: 請詳細說明。--Xiplus (talk) 14:05, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
如果我想一次过在SRG要求监管员全域鎖定许多用户(列20-30个以上),这可能导致页面混乱。加入{{cot}}和{{cob}}能将表“折叠”起来。Minorax (talk) 14:13, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
列:
Extended content
  • User 1
  • User 2
  • User 3
  • @Minorax: 現在提報10個以上會自動摺疊,門檻值可以在設定頁自訂。--Xiplus (talk) 02:28, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy template for jawiki[edit]

ja:Template:Delete 说是特别给处理跨维基破坏/spam 但不懂日文的人准备的。对于 Global Twinkle 来说可能用这个模板而不是 ja:Template:即時削除 好一些。 --WhitePhosphorus (talk) 04:41, 3 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Is it possible to add in an option to report pages to Global sysops/Requests? Minorax (talk) 02:48, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a thing that mostly does this in my global.js, though it'll need some tweaks to work as a module properly --DannyS712 (talk) 03:18, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Minorax: Can you give me some examples (diffs)?--Xiplus (talk) 05:14, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Xiplus: Something like Special:Diff/20039553 & Special:Diff/20039555. Preferably just interwikilinks, like b:ja:Example. DannyS712's script seems good enough to be merged into this. So it'll be something like: Please delete, "reason", "interwikilink". --Minorax (talk) 05:49, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Minorax: When to mark CSD template on the page? When to request at GS/R?--Xiplus (talk) 07:03, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Xiplus: The CSD portion can be kept as per normal. As for when to request at GS/R, it'll be something like how a user reports to SRG. --Minorax (talk) 07:12, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Minorax: I have added this function. You will see the option in CSD panel if you are on a GS wiki. --Xiplus (talk) 09:48, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Minorax: Twinkle can detect old template on the page now. It will ask user whether to replace old template with new one. You can choose "Cancel". --Xiplus (talk) 02:18, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Minorax (talk) 12:18, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TwinkleGlobal Request[edit]

At: User:Xiplus/Twinkle/modules/twinkleconfig.js, line with:

box.appendChild(document.createTextNode('If you want to set Twinkle preferences, you can use the '));

Can this be changed to "If you want to change TwinkleGlobal preferences"? I use a local version of Twinkle at enwiki, this causes two exact duplicate banners for Twinkle preferences, one for local and one for this Twinkle. It'd be nice if it was made clearer which is for global and which is my Twinkle gadget. Thanks! ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 15:18, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New feature[edit]

Hello!

Can w:Wp:Twinkle/Preferences#Tag be implemented to TwinkleGlobal? This would be very appreciated at Commons and probably other wikis to where files and aricles are tagged with diverse cleanup templates. The costume tags would have to be added in three steps. First which wiki(s) it would be active on, what namespace(s) it would be active on and then the name of the template. Thanks!Jonteemil (talk) 18:42, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonteemil: If different wikis use different templates, it will be hard to combine this feature into TwinkleGlobal. I suggest you to use User:Hoo_man/tagger.js. Xiplus (talk) 03:08, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Grant request for localising Twinkle to other wikis[edit]

Hi Xiplus and others. I wanted to note that I have made a Rapid Grant request for localising the functionality of Twinkle to other wikis – even including modules such as Tag, XFD, CSD and Block. Warn/Notify users[edit]

Hey. I'm unable to warn disruptive users, specifically in my case an IP at en.wikibooks. When I click the "Warn" option, it opens a box saying "Warn/Notify users" but nothing pops up inside the box (it's a blank box). I'm wondering what is going on? Because it would be very convenient if this issue can be resolved and I can warn users with a simple click of a few options. Thanks. —Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 15:00, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle bug with bullet points[edit]

Hi Xiplus, liking Global Twinkle. I just came across an issue from the original version with bullet points in the dropdown, when they should not be there. That issue is described here. From what its look like it has been fixed upstream but not here. Could you take a look at this? Thanks in advance. --Wiki13 (talk) 23:13, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CSD choose a different template in jawiki[edit]

@Xiplus: The Note says {{Delete}} will be used as speedy deletion template on this wiki. But d:Q4847311 shows the jawiki template for csd is w:ja:Template:即時削除. I saw your done at #Speedy template for jawiki, but now, it uses {{Delete}} again.

And by the way, can TW allow me to add a fixed template at the top of the page and allow me to modify the parameters of that template before submitting it? For example, can I add a w:ja:Template:即時版指定削除 to CSD or somewhere and add its parameters?--LaMagiaaa (talk) 12:42, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LaMagiaaa: 1) He said we should use Template:Delete instead of Template:即時削除. Template:Delete was created for SWMT (see description on ja:Template:Delete). So TwinkleGlobal don't follow settings on wikidata when you are on jawiki. 2) There is no such function in TwinkleGlobal and original (enwiki) Twinkle. It's hard to build and use the function on different wikis. Xiplus (talk) 09:38, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Xiplus, Okay. Thanks for your reply. --LaMagiaaa (talk) 09:53, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How to go about translating and further customising this tool?[edit]

Hi there! I think this is a great tool, just tried it on es.wikipedia and found it delightful. I'm thinking of customising it further, particularly to ensure the edit summary appears in Spanish. Would you recommend starting by manually importing your modules to es.wikipedia, translating the key words, and seeing what happens? Or would such a feat require more advanced/technical knowledge? I'm by no means an expert, but I have a lot of patience. Ttfn! --Coop987 (talk) 14:29, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Coop987: This tool is forked from enwiki. It's better to localize it base on enwiki version. There is a very new project to help people to localize Twinkle. See twinkle-starter and twinkle-core. p.s. I'm not sure twinkle-core is ready to use. You can ask question there. Xiplus (talk) 14:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

SRG indentation[edit]

Is there any reason why the script is using an indentation (with :) in requests at SRG? Even the documentation at Steward requests/Global/lock-header recommends otherwise, and it also breaks tools like c:COM:Convenient Discussions (possibly also DiscussionTools, I don't use them) by suggesting that the indentation is only part of the comment. ~~~~

As the Convenient Discussions maintainer, I join the question. This is very confusing: the comment starts and ends at a different level. it induces users to reply with two colons, yet it's the first comment of the topic. Without CD, it also looks like the indented text is the continuation of the last item of the bulleted list that has user names. Jack who built the house (talk) 22:46, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I want to disable TwinkleGlobal for all wikis that have Twinkle installed locally, because I don't want the work having two installations of Twinkle and some wikis has local Twinkle, local Twinkle works better locally. Thingofme (talk) 00:38, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Thingofme: You can disable specific function in User:Xiplus/TwinkleGlobal/Preferences ("Disable xxx function on these wikis"). Xiplus (talk) 10:20, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But I want to disable Twinkle completely, not the function of Twinkle, and this is automatic disable, to detect Twinkle from local preferences (or only enable it in GS wiki?) Thingofme (talk) 13:22, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

印度尼西亚语维基百科不支持自定义速删理由[edit]

id:Template:db, 输入{{Db|1=Custom rationale}}后会显示

Galat Lua: expandTemplate: template "db-custom rationale" does not exist.

模板文档似乎也很outdated,很多parameter其实是没有的。--魔琴 (talk) 04:29, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@魔琴:所以? Xiplus (talk) 04:46, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
就,回報一個错误,我也不知道该怎么办(除了让他们改模板——魔琴 (talk) 04:49, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

RegExp enhancing for twinklespeedy[edit]

Hi, can TwinkleGlobal be extended so as to also check for redirects? Currently TwinkleGlobal.speedy.getSpeedyTemplate() only returns the page connected to Template:Db (Q4847311). Another API request should be no big deal. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 13:59, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Use cases? The function allow you to replace it with new reason. So I'm assuming it will only be used for what you want to update your own reason and so on. And... Two delete templates should be no big deal too? Xiplus (talk) 14:14, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As a patroller I often check speedy cats to re-tag and notify GSs at GSR. When the reason stated is sufficient, the re-tag step is unnecessary. However, if the template used is a redirect, Twinkle won't know and therefore adds another template. By querying for redirects and enhancing the regex, Twinkle will instead alert and we users can then choose what to do. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 14:44, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Done. The template and aliases will be cached for 7 days. So the dialog opens faster. Xiplus (talk) 05:58, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot init CSD module[edit]

At trv:Satharadiga - සතරදිග I got this warning message when trying to open the CSD dialog:

jQuery.Deferred exception: Cannot read properties of null (reading '0') TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading '0')

According to my browser console, this line triggered it. However, no notifications poped up showing me the error, which means catch (e) did not do its job. Can you have a look? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 11:12, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Fixed. Xiplus (talk) 11:27, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
