New feature
Hello!
Can w:Wp:Twinkle/Preferences#Tag be implemented to TwinkleGlobal? This would be very appreciated at Commons and probably other wikis to where files and aricles are tagged with diverse cleanup templates. The costume tags would have to be added in three steps. First which wiki(s) it would be active on, what namespace(s) it would be active on and then the name of the template. Thanks!Jonteemil (talk) 18:42, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil: If different wikis use different templates, it will be hard to combine this feature into TwinkleGlobal. I suggest you to use User:Hoo_man/tagger.js. Xiplus (talk) 03:08, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Hey. I'm unable to warn disruptive users, specifically in my case an IP at en.wikibooks. CSD choose a different template in jawiki
@Xiplus: The Note says {{Delete}} will be used as speedy deletion template on this wiki. But d:Q4847311 shows the jawiki template for csd is w:ja:Template:即時削除. I saw your done at #Speedy template for jawiki, but now, it uses {{Delete}} again.
And by the way, can TW allow me to add a fixed template at the top of the page and allow me to modify the parameters of that template before submitting it? For example, can I add a w:ja:Template:即時版指定削除 to CSD or somewhere and add its parameters?--LaMagiaaa (talk) 12:42, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- @LaMagiaaa: 1) He said we should use Template:Delete instead of Template:即時削除. Template:Delete was created for SWMT (see description on ja:Template:Delete). So TwinkleGlobal don't follow settings on wikidata when you are on jawiki. 2) There is no such function in TwinkleGlobal and original (enwiki) Twinkle. It's hard to build and use the function on different wikis. Xiplus (talk) 09:38, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

How to go about translating and further customising this tool?
Hi there! I think this is a great tool, just tried it on es.wikipedia and found it delightful. I'm thinking of customising it further, particularly to ensure the edit summary appears in Spanish. Would you recommend starting by manually importing your modules to es.wikipedia, translating the key words, and seeing what happens? Or would such a feat require more advanced/technical knowledge? I'm by no means an expert, but I have a lot of patience. Ttfn! --Coop987 (talk) 14:29, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Coop987: This tool is forked from enwiki. It's better to localize it base on enwiki version. There is a very new project to help people to localize Twinkle. See twinkle-starter and twinkle-core. p.s. I'm not sure twinkle-core is ready to use. You can ask question there. Xiplus (talk) 14:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

SRG indentation
Is there any reason why the script is using an indentation (with :
) in requests at SRG? Even the documentation at Steward requests/Global/lock-header recommends otherwise, and it also breaks tools like c:COM:Convenient Discussions (possibly also DiscussionTools, I don't use them) by suggesting that the indentation is only part of the comment. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 22:27, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- As the Convenient Discussions maintainer, I join the question. This is very confusing: the comment starts and ends at a different level. it induces users to reply with two colons, yet it's the first comment of the topic. Without CD, it also looks like the indented text is the continuation of the last item of the bulleted list that has user names. Jack who built the house (talk) 22:46, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 18:48, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- And in talk pages of IP ranges, like w:fr:User talk:2A01:238:20A:0:0:0:0:0/48, when I click on “GARV”, the “/48” part is ignored. --Thibaut (talk) 19:12, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
- ranges usually can't have talk pages, so the fact that this page is interpreted as a subpage is reasonable. ~~~~

LockHide template
@Xiplus Could you please use |1=
syntax in the {{LockHide}} template? Usernames with a = are not displayed correctly, as in Special:Diff/22105489. ~~~~

Options for rollback
@Xiplus: Hi. I think it would be a good idea to give the options to users in twinkle preferences to get to select which rollback options they'd like to enable. For example, I would like to enable the Vandalism rollback + Normal rollback option or only Normal rollback. I personally don't require the AGF Rollback button and would prefer that not be on my screen. Thanks, --Svartava2 (talk) 16:54, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

- @Xiplus, you might want to update the TwinkleGlobal preferences window accordingly. ~~~~

Disable TwinkleGlobal for wikis that have installed locally
I want to disable TwinkleGlobal for all wikis that have Twinkle installed locally, because I don't want the work having two installations of Twinkle and some wikis has local Twinkle, local Twinkle works better locally. Thingofme (talk) 00:38, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Thingofme: You can disable specific function in User:Xiplus/TwinkleGlobal/Preferences ("Disable xxx function on these wikis"). Xiplus (talk) 10:20, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- But I want to disable Twinkle completely, not the function of Twinkle, and this is automatic disable, to detect Twinkle from local preferences (or only enable it in GS wiki?) Thingofme (talk) 13:22, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

RegExp enhancing for twinklespeedy
Hi, can TwinkleGlobal be extended so as to also check for redirects? Currently TwinkleGlobal.speedy.getSpeedyTemplate()
only returns the page connected to Template:Speedy delete (Q4847311). Another API request should be no big deal. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 13:59, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Use cases? The function allow you to replace it with new reason. So I'm assuming it will only be used for what you want to update your own reason and so on. And... Two delete templates should be no big deal too? Xiplus (talk) 14:14, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- As a patroller I often check speedy cats to re-tag and notify GSs at GSR. When the reason stated is sufficient, the re-tag step is unnecessary. However, if the template used is a redirect, Twinkle won't know and therefore adds another template. By querying for redirects and enhancing the regex, Twinkle will instead alert and we users can then choose what to do. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 14:44, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh: Done. The template and aliases will be cached for 7 days. So the dialog opens faster. Xiplus (talk) 05:58, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Cannot init CSD module
At trv:Satharadiga - සතරදිග I got this warning message when trying to open the CSD dialog:
jQuery.Deferred exception: Cannot read properties of null (reading '0') TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading '0')
According to my browser console, this line triggered it. However, no notifications poped up showing me the error, which means catch (e)
did not do its job. Can you have a look? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 11:12, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

admin actions
Hello. I am not sure if global twinkle can perform actions (delete a page, all redirects, and unlink). If it does, then it is not showing up on mono skin. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:17, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

Wider inputs
Hi. Can inputs be made a bit wider, and preferably bigger (more padding)? Currently it's a bit hard to see overflowed content, especially IPs. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 17:36, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

- @Xiplus: Just asking, why don't you use CSS? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 07:06, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

- className can be set on input element, but not for parent div element. How would you recommend implementing it? Xiplus (talk) 09:09, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- Use
div[id^="div_node_"]
anddisplay: flex; flex-direction: column;
? NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 09:17, 3 July 2022 (UTC)- div node number is a random number. You can see a different number if you open the dialog twice. Xiplus (talk) 09:18, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
- But I'm not using a number. If more specificity is needed, advanced selectors like
:nth-child()
or:nth-of-type()
can be used. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 09:24, 3 July 2022 (UTC)- I think it's not good to make all input boxes full width. Xiplus (talk) 09:26, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
