      • About me: I am an administrator and checkuser on EnWiki, an administrator on the Commons, and an OTRS volunteer. I am present on Meta, and although eligible, have never submitted an RfA on Meta out of respect for the understanding that the tools are meant to be used, and not a badge of achievement. Avraham is my SUL for wikimedia projects. My interest in becoming a steward is specifically to help out with cross-wiki vandalism, especially those requiring checkusering for the projects that do not have active checkusers in and of themselves. I am accessible by talk page and e-mail, and occasionally on IRC, although e-mail is my preferred method of contact. Thank you for your consideration.
      • After discussions with other metapedians, I was told I may have undersold my linguistic abilities. I feel it may be helpful to the wikimedia community to know that I am often contacted to close the Hebrew permission-commons tickets on OTRS to close (e.g [1], [2], [3], and [4] for examples). I claim he-1 as I am weakest when it comes to typing Hebrew, which makes posting on HeWiki difficult, but my comprehension and speaking abilities may be closer to he-2 than he-1, having been in Israel a number of times, and spending a year in an Israeli institution where only Hebrew was spoken in classes. As that was a number of years ago, I doubt my ability is over he-2 (then I think I could claim he-3 ).

  70. Support. Avi's a good guy (except for those darn smileys), and knows where his towel is. I've worked with him as an admin and CU on en:wp, and like his approach. He has two strikes against him if you read the opposes, experience on other wikis, and language. Language is hard to fix, but in general the other wiki experience can be fixed. My generic advice for it is: Come over to Commons, there's lots of work to do there, and you'll find people from all around the world, many who don't speak English as their first language... you'll demonstrate that you can (or can't) work in a multicultural environment, and that you can get the support of your colleagues. Now then... Avi HAS come over to Commons, he's got a lot of edits... and what's more, he's been a sysop for a year. Commons:Administrators/Requests_and_votes/Avraham_(2nd_attempt). I think he will have to work hard at the job to overcome the barriers of experience and language, but if he does (and I know he will) he'll be a fine steward.
