This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure. Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.
Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community. Using this page
1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:
==== Username@xxproject ==== (your remarks) ~~~~
2. Fill in the values:
- domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
- user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
- discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser").
3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.
Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement
Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

Hi! i have been getting support from our community members, now i gained consensus from all nine users who have voted, some of them are ne.wikipedia sysop, my adm-ship will expire on 6th May. If you wish please grant permanent sysop flag. Regards --Bhawani 13:13, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Could you add a link to the local discussion, please? Wutsje 13:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, two user have voted after 6th February, after temp sysop-ship was granted on 6th Feb.this is the link, Thanks--Bhawani 13:33, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
- Would you please explain this edit why you added your wish to become a bureaucrat after a vote already started with 6 supports? As this is misleading, please withdraw that request to become a bureaucrat and, after your wiki becomes sizable, make a separate request and vote.Jusjih 12:00, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- I accepted, my intention was not to mislead but a mistake. I added that(bureaucrat) after six votes when i saw same thing happening in another wiki. Due to that reason i got temp. administration-ship only (in-spite seven votes) and my request for bureaucrat was rejected, please see this. Now my request is not for bureaucrat but for permanent sysop. I have withdrawn for bureaucrat-ship see withdraw link, thanks --Bhawani 14:34, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

- With possibly one exception, all the voters are not long term editors of that project. We have until 6 May, so if a majority of those users continue to edit ne.wiktionary and there are no significant opposes, then permanent status will be warranted. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 12:52, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Done-ish: I don't believe that there is an active enough community to support for permenant adminship, however you have the support of a good number of users. I'm granting adminship for a year and we can see if next time there is a more active community of longer term editors. fr33kman 16:59, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Here's not activity, users are too some, and they can't vote, I want if is possible to give me a temporary adminship on the wiki to clean him some. Thank you. Memo18(contribs|talk|ro.wp(t)) 18:36, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Since you made the request today, I think holding it open for a week is still good practice. If there are no objectons after that time, we can grant you temporary adminship. Best, PeterSymonds 18:40, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Has 4000 total edits, 39 of which are on ro.books. I object to this candidacy and the permissions he was already given on ro.news. He posted his last candidacy on ro.news by removing the objections the community brought up for his previous stunt in June 2010. Also in June 2010 he attempted to get an adminship on Meta for God knows what reason. Should I have known he was once more requesting adminship on ro.books, I would have properly posted my objections at that time, as I did with his candidacy on ro.source. We had two simultaneous adminship candidates on ro.source. One received the support of the community, Memo18 didn't. Amusingly enough, after the voting ended, Memo18 archived the successful candidacy (Mishuletz), but omitted to add his denied candidacy to the same archive. In other words, at the time I'm writing this message it doesn't show anywhere that he ever posted an adminship request (which ended up being denied). He was given temp adminship on ro.news without getting any votes at all (as in none). --Rebel 22:22, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Getting temp. w/o votes is what's usually done. That's why it's temporary. Seb az86556 00:32, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

First, the objections was from May past year, and was not objections, was only comments, and I was accepted to wait some months to have experience. And who will delete the articles on books? Please..are too impossible to retain a wiki withouth admins.. Memo18(contribs|talk|ro.wp(t)) 11:31, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Sir, please, I wait for 3 days! It's too imposible to wait from now 4 days.. and no votes :| Please, quick the giving,, --Memo18(contribs|talk|ro.wp(t)) 22:06, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

CheckUser access

Oversight access
To request to have content oversighted, ask in #wikimedia-stewards, or email oversight-llists
wikimedia
org for requests regarding English Wikipedia. This is the place to request Oversight access. Note that temporary Oversight access is not permitted and the temporary status is only used by Stewards.
- Stewards
- Do not grant Oversight access unless the user is identified to the foundation, which will be announced on the Identification noticeboard. When you give someone oversight access, list them on Oversight.
Removal of access
<translate>
- If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
- To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
- To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
- See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.</translate>
