I want to usurp the following accounts with 0 edits in projects without bureaucrats

--L 15:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears zh-yue wikipedia has a local bureaucrat still, please place a request at zh-yue:Wikipedia:改用戶名 and give him some time to respond.
Russian Wikibooks done - No activity on the account since its creation in 2007, no email set. Kylu 16:11, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for ru.books. i have placed a request for zh.yue on the local request page on 12 sept: [1] in the past requests on this page have been answered quickly (on same day), but my request has got no reply (neither positive nor negative) until now. can you do something about it?
i have also made requests in a number of other projects. some with success, but many without any reaction:
  • mediawikiwiki: on sept 2 [2], local user has 16 edits, but all of them vandalism (blanking of pages).
  • eowiki: on sept 10 [3]
  • arwiki: on sept 1 [4]
  • nds-nlwiki: first crat sent me to second (and only other) crat, on second crats talk page some diskussion with another user, but no reaction from crat [5]
  • some more requests in the last days
You may want to consider just asking in that section, "Do you mind if the Stewards perform this rename?" ... if there's no response in a few weeks, they probably don't care. There's quite a few folks who take up the mantle of bureaucrat without understanding that it's little more than a new set of annoyances, I think. :) Kylu 16:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have found another account on a wiki without crat:

--L 11:11, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--62.226.141.119 16:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done the io.wiki and nov.wiki--Nick1915 - all you want 16:43, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some more wikis without reaction from the local crat:

Any others, or can we archive this section? Kylu 12:15, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
--L
I think the usurpation on nds-nl offended the local administrator, as he left a question about it. I'll abstain from the rest of these until the matter is cleared up, I think. There's plenty of other stewards, though. Kylu 04:13, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
@Kylu: Please check again: Erik Warmelink (also: ErikWarmelink) is not an admin. I asked both crats on the wiki, both they did not answer. Erik was the only on to answer: at first he talked in favour of a 4 year waiting time but than changed to "I am OK with the usurpation." see: http://nds-nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overleg_gebruker:Servien#usurp_L
Does this clear up matters? --L
Correct on the non-adminness, but the sequence of events is that the question was posed after his being OK with the usurpation. Anyway, I'd rather get a response from him first, as lack of adminness doesn't make his opinion less valid. Kylu 11:06, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done at es.wikiversity since their bureaucrats does not respond to communications and are long time inactive. --dferg ☎ talk 23:14, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

thank you. --L 10:17, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Objectivist

Status:    Not done
According to the Login Unification page, I have accounts at these places in WikiMedia:
 * en.wikipedia.org
 * en.wikisource.org
 * en.wikiversity.org
 * meta.wikimedia.org
 * simple.wikipedia.org
 * wikisource.org
And I believe that is correct.
However, it appears someone else uses the name here:
 * en.wikibooks.org
Because so far as I recall, I've never used that site. I recognize the benefits of having a unified account, but I also want to be polite. I'd like to request a kind of "lockdown" on the use of my username on all the other Wikimedia sites not listed above, to prevent any other/future duplications. And I'd like the wikibooks "Objectivist" to be asked to consider selecting a new name. I do not wish to force the issue; if I've not in the past accessed wikibooks as an editor, it may be that I won't need to in the future. In which case the Wikimedia Unification software somehow needs to handle exceptions like this one, where two people with the same username each have a kind of limited/unified account, with no overlaps between the two. Thank you! --Objectivist 06:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As you have the global account Objectivist users are already prevented ("lockdown" in your speak) from creating accounts with the name "Objectivist" on other wikis. This was done automatically when the global account was created (back in Nov 2008), however the en.wikibooks account dates from before that happened. To obtain that account place a request over there (at b:en:Wikibooks:Requests for renaming). Best of luck, Rambo 13:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Objectivist 17:32, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Marking as Not done, as there are local bureaucrats and Rambo has sufficiently answered the question for the user. Kylu 19:44, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ameena

Status:    In progress

My SUL account seems to have a bug. I cannot successfully SUL "Ameena" even though I own Ameena (EN Wikipedia) and Ameena (Meta). While attempting to SUL, the following error notice pops up: "The home wiki for this account (listed below) has a different password to the one you entered", when I don't know that password as I don't own that account. Hence I want to usurp the following two remaining accounts:

I understand that direct usurpations cannot be made from Meta if the target wikis has active crats. Hence I will be using this request as a linked reference when requesting from .ar and .de, as I don't know the languages and can't properly explain there. Kind regards. --Ameena 02:18, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. For your convenience:
Quoting from that section, "Sorry, but User:Lexis has valid contributions. The policy on de-WP is that even a single usueful edit would prevent ursupation, and this user has about 40. And he could reappear one day!" - FritzG, 19:01, 7 August 2010
I hate to be the bearer of bad news regarding de.wp, however. I do wonder what would happen if you tried special:mergeaccount from Meta in about a week, however? Best of luck. Kylu 02:33, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Did for .ar in the above method. Already did for .de. And guess what, tried merging form Meta, and it works! Thanks! ;) Ameena 02:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, good! I was hoping that extra edit would kick you over the threshold, but I didn't know if there might've been some weird autoconfirm limitation on it also. Have a nice day. :) Kylu 02:54, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but usurpation for 'de' is not possible because the user has valid contributions. Raymond 08:22, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But all of the five edits were made on 12 November 2009 on the same page. Can't we just ask the user if s/he objects (the common way) and if not, move on with the usurpation? Ameena 09:23, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The policy of the German Wikipedia is not to usurp accounts with valid contributions. The approval of account holder is necessary for renaming. Raymond 07:00, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Then lets post a message and email the user. And see if s/he agrees in the usurpation. Ameena 02:24, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Has the user replied to you yet, Ameena? You'd be the one responsible for posting the message, since you're the one wanting the username, by the way. Kylu 15:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I have no clue on how to post the message; I definitely cannot post in English ;) Raymond, could you help in posting that message, please? Ameena 04:34, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sortilegus 22:48, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for enwiki, which has bureaucrats. Shanel 00:15, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PrinceMathew

Status:    In progress

Username was usurped on en.wiki with his blessing but global account still exists. Will ask owner to post here to certify. –xeno 14:14, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly note that my user identity is not abandoned, it is just renamed to InarZan2. I don't care what you do with the old username, but I want the global account in the name InarZan2. Could you please rename my global account to "InarZan2"? PrinceMathew 14:54, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We can't rename global accounts. Please rename all accounts where you have contributions under "PrinceMathew" to "InarZan2" as you want, visit special:mergeaccount as InarZan2 to create a new global account, then return here to request deletion of the old global account. Thank you. Kylu 15:54, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DS1SKU

Status:    In progress

Could someone have a look at en:WP:USURP#DS1SKU and advise how best to address the request? –xeno 13:27, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment: I'm not aware of a policy that would allow us to usurp an account based on its status as matching a callsign. Further, this diff on ko.wikipedia seems to indicate that the username was not selected as an impersonation, but user initials and the initials of his university/universities. If the existing accounts are usurped by the requesting user (원용), however, it would make sense to have stewards delete the global account to permit reunification. It would be best to explain the situation calmly to the current user of the "DS1SKU" account, however, and ask them to voluntarily relinquish it first. (If it matters, I understand my username has previously been the callsign of a Western United States radio station. Not that I was aware of this fact prior to my Wikipedia involvement.) Request for Global Account deletion: Dielli

Status:    In progress

On the recommendation of the local bureaucrat at Albanian Wikipedia, I am writing to request deletion of my Global Account Dielli before they may proceed renaming my local one (following usurpation there).

Much appreciated.
