Preferences tabs aren't working
I am currently unable to switch to different tabs in Preferences. I wanted to check a gadget but I can't get to that tab/page. Stevie is the man! Talk • Work 13:57, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Temporary user rights and "flooder" right: proposed that should be the practice for this right
With the addition to the mediawiki capacity to temporarily assign rights, I believe that as we have and utilise the "flooder"/"Flood flag", that the community could reasonably have the expectation that this right would only by assigned by 'crats, and self-applied by admins on a temporary basis. Also hopefully that it could be applied for periods of hours at most.
I also feel that we should amend the text Flooder to talk about good practice would be only to assign this temporarily. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:23, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- There are some technical issues being investigated ATM IIRC about the system not working very well with short periods of time due to caching or something else I don't quite remember. MusikAnimal will know better for sure. Other than that, yep, to avoid ghost flood flags, temporary assignements looks okay to me.Thanks, —MarcoAurelio 08:20, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Display issue only. The right expires on time, however the userrights page doesn't catch up through caching. Fix has been coded, so resolved and not an inhibitor. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:19, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Translation
The "Interested" section of Wikimedia User Group Hong Kong is not being translated properly. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks, Jc86035 (talk) 08:34, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- Should it be translated at all? It's just a signature list, why bother? It's just far out of date, because it's somehow stuck in limbo without preparing for translation. Is there a way to exclude this paragraph from the translation block? Grüße vom Sänger ♫(Reden) 08:50, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
