Nothing to do with Meta-Wiki sysops and bureaucrats. — Revi 02:59, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Text translated by Google Translate. (I speak Russian and Kazakh language)

Hello! My name Esetok (2 years in Wiki-projects).

I first blocked for 2 weeks in the Kazakh Wikipedia by administrator named Nurlan Rakhymzhanov, because I added obscene words to my sandbox (page deleted), needed for writing about Kazakh obscene language. Then I unblocked the administrator Kayyr.

Then ensued a verbal altercation with other administrators in the face Nurlan Rahymzhanov, Arystanbek and others. After that, I wrote an article about the Kazakh profanity and add images to articles rimming and oral sex, which were previously deleted by the administrator Nurlan Rahymzhanov because encyclopedia article for the desired image.

Some time later, a local bureaucrat named Qarakesek blocked me for a year and deleted ([1] [2]) images of sex in articles. He explained this by saying that I was introduced to Wikipedia obscene things and discord among the project participants (see text in Kazakh: [3]).

Please take action, because i don't broken general rules of Wikipedia, and almost all of the administrators are against me because not want to see images of sex in "his" Wikipedia.

As one can see on User:Ltrlg/translate-workflow-states, the French messages have an inconsistent typography and don’t exactly match the English versions. Could an administrator replace the current messages by the ones in the “Proposed” column, please? — Ltrlg (talk) – 18:39, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Done, thanks! --Stryn (talk) 18:59, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Translation revertion

Please revert all edit made by : 103.242.20.233 in translation [4] to revision ... by NahidSultan. I have several times try to revert but it doesn't work. Someone would have an explanation? Grind24 (talk) 10:38, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

I was able to clean up a good portion of it and it looks like Stemoc got the rest. Thanks. --Az1568 (talk) 10:49, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Import request

Hello, can someone import these pages User:Titodutta/Import requests and check why class parameter of Template:Clickable button 2 is not working? --TitoDutta 09:46, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Please explain why these templates are needed here. Also bear in mind that enwiki templates are usually super-complicated and usually require numerous other templates to be imported as well. --MF-W 13:59, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
I tried to fulfill your request for Template:URL, but the import failed. I chose it because it looked like a nice simple template, with no calls to other templates; but the failed test listed dozens of sub-templates (I have a screen shot if it helps). It failed on most of them, but it apparently successfully imported:
I began deleting these, since I thought they were just cruft from a failed experiment. However, I noticed that Module:Yesno was in use in several places: Special:WhatLinksHere/Module:Yesno So, I wonder: did I import and blow away existing modules on Meta? If so...what is the best way to fix it?
I hope an admin with more technical expertise can help me walk this back -- hope I didn't mess anything up too badly. -Pete F (talk) 21:07, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi

Could someone semi-protect my user page to prevent vandalism? Thank you. 1989 (talk) 19:47, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

@1989: Done PiRSquared17 (talk) 19:49, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Global account

I just created my new account, Bigwill91, and it was so bad that I want to contribute to Wikipedia and other projects. No need to edit anonymously.

However, I can't make this account into a global one; but can I still edit Wikipedia? Thanks. Bigwill91 (talk) 20:54, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello Bigwill91. Your account is automatically global, and there should be nothing preventing you from editing Wikipedia. Have fun! :) —Pathoschild 21:01, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
I found out! I can only edit on 3 projects, but not others. For example, I want to contribute Wikipedia, but my account is not yet attached to that wiki. What should I do? Bigwill91 (talk) 21:08, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
If you visit another wiki, your account there should be created automatically. You can look at Stalktoy to see information about your account, or Help:Unified login for more information about global accounts. —Pathoschild 21:17, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
No luck. It doesn't auto-attach my account if I try to visit another wiki. What else can I do? Bigwill91 (talk) 21:28, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
I see several wikis attached to your global account recently, but the English Wikipedia isn't one of them. Can you log in there manually? —Pathoschild 21:35, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
No. It doesn't work; it is not yet registered. And, besides, it take a few days for my account to be attached. Bigwill91 (talk) 21:45, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
There should be no delay to attach a local account. If it doesn't work correctly for you, you should ask for help in #wikimedia-techconnect. —Pathoschild 23:00, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
I want to contribute to Wikipedia, but it is not yet attached. If I try to login to Wikipedia, I would get a Cannot create account error because my IP address is blocked. Could you give me instructions? Bigwill91 (talk) 23:15, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Please refer to w:Help:I have been blocked for help resolving your situation. —Pathoschild 23:20, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
But my talk page access from my IP is revoked because it is not yet created. Could you restore talk page access for me? Regards, Bigwill(History) Timestamp: 23:47, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
You can click '[show]' next to the Additional information section to see alternatives when you don't have talk page access. —Pathoschild 23:52, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Confusing. The information is different from rather than just asking an admin to restore talk page access. Regards, Bigwill(History) Timestamp: 23:56, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
To simplify, you can talk directly to administrators on the English Wikipedia via #wikipedia-en-unblockconnect. —Pathoschild 00:04, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Nonsense. Could you ask an administrator on Wikipedia (both English and Simple English) to unblock my IP address, because I registered my account? Regards, Bigwill(History) Timestamp: 00:23, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Can't you do it yourself? There's a web version of the #wikipedia-en-unblock channel, so there's no software to install. —Pathoschild 00:36, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Just asked at Wikimedia Forum instead. Waiting for someone to reply… Regards, Bigwill(History) Timestamp: 01:03, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Abuse filter false positive

User:Egonw has just been automatically blocked. The individual is known to me and bona fide. The edit was a cut'n'paste of en:User:Egonw. What triggered the filter, and how can we fix it? I also note that there is no notification, and no instruction for making an 'unblock' request, on Egon's talk page. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:16, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I have removed the block, but somebody else should take a look at the filter, such automatic blocks are definitely not okay. Nevertheless, I believe there are unblock instructions included in some MediaWiki message, which I am unable to find at the moment. Thanks for reporting. Vogone (talk) 11:28, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
blogspot has been used for pushing spam and redirects. A warning is issued prior to block in this filter. See Special:AbuseFilter/68 for background and please feel free to suggest further improvements. --M/ (talk) 11:51, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
It is rare to get a false positive, though we do watch for them with that filter. They are also checked and this one was identified by me when I was reviewing to find that it had already been actioned.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:04, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
I have updated the filter.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:27, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:Authority control

Please can someone with the necessary rights import Commons:Template:Authority control together with all of its sub-templates, to this wiki? It will be useful on global user pages. The current redirect will need to be overwritten. [I was advised to post here following this discussion] Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

My old userpage unemployed

I simply wanted to say that I am the same person as Gloria S., but the first times I edited here, I also lost my password, and then I created my actual userpage. I think that it's useless to mantain that userpage. Do you think it would be deletable? Thanks, --Gloria sah (talk) 17:25, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Sure, it could either be deleted or redirected to your new userpage. Which would you prefer? PiRSquared17 (talk) 17:38, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
..the last one you said, :-))) , Thank you, --Gloria sah (talk) 17:40, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Central notice edit request - POTY banner

c:POTY2014 R2 has begun. Would you please activate POTY banner which call for voting? (Sorry if I'm writing in a wrong page.)

Like this:

Thank you. --miya (talk) 15:51, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

@Miya: done, sorry for the delay. Here is the campaign, I already enabled it, but can you please double check it? BTW Why is Western Balochi (bgn) excluded? Seems arbitrary. PiRSquared17 (talk) 16:03, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, PiRSquared17! As to exclusion of "bgn" - I just copied R1 campaign with wondering why. Please include "bgn", if you think it ok. --miya (talk) 16:23, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
miya, thank you for adding this request! This is exactly the right place, and you included all the necessary information. I have added bgn back because I can't think of any reason to exclude it. Regards, PiRSquared17 (talk) 16:35, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

It may be not easy to find a translation page for the banners (at least I couldn't by myself!). PiRSquared17, could you please add a "Help with translations" link to the banner templates? --miya (talk) 14:53, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

@Miya: done, sorry for delay, was occupied. PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:48, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
PiRSquared17, thank you so much!--miya (talk) 11:23, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
