Diversity Program

Diversity Program is one of the main programs of PhilWiki Community which focuses on engagement of diverse participation to address the gender and knowledge gaps. The other main programs of the organization are Advocacy, Capacity Building, Education, GLAM, and Outreach programs. Each program supports the promotion of free knowledge and further the objectives of the organization as managed by the committee chairperson appointed by the Board.

Since 2019, the community has organized the WikiGap Campaign in the Philippines to close the gender gap and other diversity gaps on Wikipedia. It has also conducted activities that aim to build content on Philippine minority language-based Wikimedia projects including the Rinconada Bikol Wikipedia, Hiligaynon Wikipedia, Bikol Wikipedia, and Bikol Wiktionary.

This year, the SMART objectives of the Diversity program are:

The current program committee chairperson for Diversity is Emilyn Mae Cernitchez, and Joseph Ciudadado serves as the vice-chairperson (May 13, 2022 to May 13, 2023). The past and current committee members are:
